Springywheel Posted yesterday at 09:46 Posted yesterday at 09:46 Can anyone recommend some budget (3-400£ used) Precision or PJ basses that are similar to either the classic vibe or Sire line of basses? I am currently waiting for either a sire P5R, P7 or an old classic vibe to come up at a reasonable price but in the meantime would like to explore other options that are of similar quality within that price range Quote
Lozz196 Posted yesterday at 11:00 Posted yesterday at 11:00 Worth checking out the Vintage V4 basses, especially the Tony Butler Sig (providing you like black/maple of course). They`re great basses that punch far above their weight. Quote
neepheid Posted yesterday at 11:05 Posted yesterday at 11:05 If you can find one - a G&L Tribute LB-100 or SB-2 Quote
jezzaboy Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The Sire P5 was £400 new so the top end of your budget although they may have gone up in price. But they are worth the money. I bought one recently in Dakota Red and it was perfectly set up out the box and I havent had to touch it since. Much better than a Squier, Harley Benton and as good as a Fender Player for half the price. Quote
Jono Bolton Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Where are you based? I've seen someone selling a mint Chinese Classic Vibe P Bass in Sonic Blue for £300, but they're up in Lochgilphead which isn't really near anywhere. Quote
mikebass456 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I've got a white Matt Freeman Squier precision with Seymour Duncan upgrade that I'm looking to move on for about £350 in a hardcase. Excellent condition, hardly gigged, non-smoker etc etc etc 1 Quote

I bought one at the end of last year but I've gotten used to lighter basses and rounder radiuses in the intervening years so could really gel with it unfortunately. Quote
