Hi all

I'm looking for some advice

I would like to wrap 3 x Dingwall pickups in a white colour.

The pickups themselves are epoxied into the shells and white covers are not available either as an option or aftermarket upgrade.

I am thinking some kind of vinyl wrapping (like they use on car parts) might work.

Does anyone have experience of doing something similar?

Cheers!

Danny

I don't have any personal experience, but I've seen some gold wrapped pickups before on a white/black swirl NG3. Looked sick. It should work. I think the trick to getting the curves looking good is using a hair dryer to make it more pliable. Or get a car wrap specialist to do it maybe?

It should work. I wrapped an EB-0 pickup in matt black vinyl with the help of a hair dryer. It took 5 minutes.

The black theme really suits that bass.

Love it 👌

@mcnach where did you get the vinyl?

I'm thinking about wrapping a telecaster I've got rather than the hassle of stripping it and painting.

I just bought an A4 sheet on eBay, lots of sources: sheets of different sizes, rolls...

I've wrapped scratchplates before  , I had a ebay bitsa with an " interesting screw layout " , bit of cheap matt black  worked wonders and it wore well for years.

I ended up giving the bass away to a friends daughter who was playing guitar and wanted to expand her vocab to bass as well  i bet its still good.

Oh found pics  from .... " weird pearl  to black ... dont worry the status didnt go anywhere it was in a gigbag after a run out
