May I ask where I can obtain strings suitable for a 5 string Steinberger spirit..

Another shout for the Status Hotwires, but when I'm feeling a bit posh, Newtone strings also do double ball end.

I use the LaBella flat found double ball end set on my L2 Steinberger

I would just get the adapter, that way your string choice isn't restricted. If you buy bulk sets of strings in sales it'll pay for itself in no time.

I bought the adapter following a recommendation on BC. I'd definitely pass that recommendation on.

 

Edit: Being a simple design (no screws or bolts) means you can use the adaptor or go with double ball ends as the fancy takes you. 😀

That’s what I have too on my Hohner B2A which is the same scale I think, great strings

That's what I use on my Hohner B2AV. Although with the Status strings being two-thirds the price, that may change.
