tayste_2000 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 @thisisswanbon what I did for my NAMs other than capture a load of studio gear (that doesn’t have any controls) is dialled in my tone on my favourite piece of equipment, captured that and now I just have a single block I drop in and am ready to go. Paddy777 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 These are the bass related NAM captures I’ve found on Tone3000. I haven’t downloaded them all yet, and this is copied straight from my ‘Notes’ app in my phone because that’s what I do in my spare time 🤦 haha. The Avalon VT737 sounds really nice on a clean tone, just adds a bit of sheen and depth - really nice, but I thought it might be easier just to list them all here with the links as I had them saved anyway: @tayste_2000 Tone Pack (Punchline, Beta, Cranbourne et al): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/steven-taylor-tone-pack-41791 Ampeg B15-66: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-b15-66-31103 Sushi Box Finally v3: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/sushi-box-finally-v3-41381 Ampeg B15-64: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-b15-64-33702 Sadowskyw Preamp: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/sadowsky-sbp-2-bass-preamp-32439 DCX Bass 1: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/origin-effects-dcx-bass-28027 DCX Bass 2: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/origin-effects-dcx-bass-43362 GR Bass One 800: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/grbass-one-800-48257 GR Bass One 1400: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/gr-bass-1400-5840 Genz Benz Streamliner 900: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/genz-benz-streamliner-900-47263 Audio Kitchen Fake Plastic Trees: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/audio-kitchen-fake-plastic-trees-2715 Full Rig - SVT/Pultec EQ/Cab: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/bass-full-rig-pultec-svt-4x12-cab-re20-mic-55 SVT/Pultec EQ/NO CAB: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/clean-pultec-svt-no-cab-30 SVT/Pultec EQ/Sansamp Drive/NO CAB: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/bass-chain-pultec-sanamp-ampeg-svt-no-cab-drive-59 GK RB800: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/gallien-krueger-rb800-070-2694 Ampeg SVT-PRO4: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/aaf-ampeg-svt-4-pro-6629 SVT Hard Rock: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-svt-hard-rock-28715 Various Power Amps: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/slammin-poweramp-mega-pack-5688 Ampeg B-18N: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-b-18n-portaflex-fliptop-43868 Benson Preamp:https://www.tone3000.com/tones/benson-preamp-pedal-2078 Way Huge Pork & Pickle: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/way-huge-pork-pickle-bass-overdrive-fuzz-36541 JHS Colourbox: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/jhs-colour-box-v2-anniversary-edition-37335 Jule Monique:https://www.tone3000.com/tones/jule-amps-monique-31287 Trace Elliot GP7SM: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/trace-elliot-gp7sm-26545 Eden Glowplug: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/eden-glowplug-2025-47312 Ashdown CTM-100 DI: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ashdown-ctm-100-pre-eq-di-47287 Ashdown Triple Shot: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ashdown-triple-shot-30523 JPTR FX Jive: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/jptrfx-jive-30514 Earthquaker Plumes:https://www.tone3000.com/tones/earthquaker-devices-plumes-40366 Earthquaker Plumes (Switch 3): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/earthquaker-devices-plumes-switch-3-pack-1853 Jam Pedals Rattler: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/jampedals-rattler-base-mk2-49462 Ampeg SVT-CL (Cln/Lo/Med/Hi): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-svt-cl-bass-head-45809 SVT Fuzz (Blend with clean): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/svt-fuzzedup-5509 Ampeg SVT-Pro6 (Cln w/mids): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-svt-6-pro-di-clean-sound-with-tasty-mids-42667 SVT (Hard Rock/Pick Rock): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-svt-hard-rock-28715 Ampeg SVT + 410 (Cln & Pushed): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ampeg-svt-ampeg-4x10-47165 Tech21 VT Bass v.1: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/tech-21-vt-character-series-37097 GK MB Fusion 500: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/gk-mb-fusion-500-di-mark-settings-42577 Kasleder Albatross Fuzz: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/kasleder-albatross-30490 Avalon VT737: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/avalon-vt737-for-bass-guitar-052-2056 Hope that saves a few of you some time, or gives you some ideas for downloads 👍 9 2 Quote

Callumjord Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Hi guys, For anyone interested in NAM captures, I am currently creating a series of captures of my Goliath FX Desolation bass distortion pedal. Essentially its a dual bass overdrive, one side being, what I believe is a TS9 style overdrive that can run in series or parallel with a RAT based distortion. https://www.tone3000.com/tones/goliath-fx-desolation--51904 IMG_5712.HEIC 2 Quote
Dudgeman Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I play in a rock/metal covers band and write and record at home, also play some guitar. I was seriously considering Anagram based on functionality and form factor. (My gigging board is massive) I've yet to see if it can do my core tones that aren't DG based (Harris, Sheehan and Duff mainly) I'd also like 3 parallel paths ( can anagram do that?) Then yesterday I saw the QC mini...great form factor for me with full QC power... Do you think it is worth the extra £200 over the Anagram?? I definitely prefer the idea of modelling rather than captures... My experience of NAM captures is very...meh... Thoughts? Quote

You can kinda do 3 paths on the Anagram, on the assumption that you’re splitting once and also taking one signal part of the way through another signal path. I’d say the modelling is better on the anagram, just on the basis it’s more focused towards bassists but on 3 signal paths I’d be concerned you’d hit the dsp limits on the Anagram quite quickly. QC mini is the better device if you’re after something for guitar and bass. Quote

I got the mini QC yesterday, and have only had a quick go on it, but first impressions are that it is awesome. I tried the Anagram, and the Nano Cortex but returned them both. So far I think it’s worth the extra over the Anagram. I like the ease of use of the cortex cloud for downloading presets and captures without having to hook it up to a PC. The QC mini has factory presets for Steve & Duff, and they both sound great. 4 Quote

d-basser Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hi all, I am trying to work out if the Anagram might be right for my needs, hopefully some of you are able to advise. I currently run an fx board with a Morningstar switcher controlling both effects selection and sending midi to a DMX lighting controller. This allows me to single click changes in both effects and lighting live. I assume if I was to go with the Anagram that I would be able to take a similar approach and use the Morningstar to change effects on the Anagram? I don't have a huge numbers of settings, usually just ~4 key sounds: OD, Distortion, Chorus, Chorus + Reverb. I sometimes dabble with additional drive/fuzz sounds but these 4 are the fundamental ones I need to switch between. Is this going to be easily achievable? Quote
Paddy777 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 If you’re asking if you can use the Morningstar midi controller with it then yes you can, I’ve seen a few Anagram setups in various FB groups with exactly that setup, so yeh you’ll be fine with that Quote

As @Paddy777 said you should be able to operate both Anagram and DMX controller together or independently using the Morningstar. Depending on how your setup is used you may need to use different midi channels for each peice of equipment. 👍 You've now got me thinking about my band set up.......💰 Quote
d-basser Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Thanks guys, thought it was possible but that I should check there wasn't some fundamental deal breaker in compatibility before I muse on it further 1 Quote

Chadu25 Posted Sunday at 23:44 Posted Sunday at 23:44 Sharing my Studio P preset in context. Just a simple chain with light comp and Noble block for my bass with flats. The Anagram has been thriving in my setup, I've not coveted on other pedals so far and have been surviving the Gear Abstinence lol 4 Quote

I’m trying to decide between the two and nearly settled on the Anagram…. Sorry, only just seen this post. I have since bought a QC mini again after I returned the first one. it’s my first foray into digital multi effects like this, and I keep finding myself torn between thinking they are amazing, and then that they are more than I need. I also tried the Nano Cortex again as well. Honestly I think both the Anagram and the QC are more than I need, but I currently play in a couple of different cover bands and am hoping to develop some decent presets to enhance and embellish my sounds. They are both very expensive and I think some of my hesitancy is around getting value for money from them. The thing I like most about the QC over the Anagram is the ease of getting captures from the Cortex cloud. Quote
Russ Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Does NAM capture compression, or just EQ, gain, etc? I have a preset on my Zoom B6 I haven't been able to duplicate on anything else I've tried (tried it on a HX Stomp and a Headrush Flex Prime) - it's their model of a MXR Bass DI+ with their "red squeeze" compressor and some EQ. I was wondering if I'd be able to capture it, complete with compression, since I can't seem to dial it in by any other means and have it sound right. I made a ReValver amp clone for the Headrush that got the EQ about right, but not the compression. Quote

Not at the moment but the compressors are great on the Anagram, and this is what I keep coming back to between the QC and the Anagram, the Anagram has that bass focus so the compressors and octavers are fantastic, similarly the drives are bass focused. Doesn’t really matter, I’ll still end up with both. Currently the QC v2 captures are what you want for compression but the NAM A2 is coming soon and I believe that will have the same capabilities and it’s been confirmed the Anagram will run these.
