At the moment, the clean and processed audio needs to go up to the tone3000.com to be turned into a NAM. However tone3000.com have recently made an API available, so maybe the Anagram or at least the Darkglass Suite will be able to streamline this in the future.

 

I have to say it was really easy in practice - use the Anagram as a USB audio interface, record two tracks of noodling in Logic, bounce each to a file, upload to tone3000.com, download the NAM. I got a really good model of my Bear Foot Blue Berry which sounds just like the pedal and is very dynamic.

Absolutely, I have some patches set up like this, works well.

 

On the whole I'm loving my Anagram and have used it on home and fly dates with no problems. The audio quality is pristine (unlike the HX Stomp) and the interface really usable (except for accidentally dragging blocks instead of scrolling along - Darkglass know about this). I'm looking at adding an additional footswitch as MIDI is coming very soon. Would love some more blocks including a ringmod, synth, slow gear etc.

So it's here.  First impressions - smaller than I thought it'd be. Solid construction. Nice packaging and cool carry case. Not many default presets to play with. Not sure I like the Darkglass Suite software - maybe I haven't got to grips with it yet, but I haven't found a way to just visually build patches by dragging and dropping blocks. 

 

Honestly, a little underwhelmed so far. But I'll persevere.

I find the Suite a bit clunky and not that intuitive but have got used to it. I've not tried to create any patches in the Suite....is this a function as Ive not really looked? 🤷‍♂️ All my patches have been created directly on the Anagram as its so easy. I hope you persevere and get used to it as it is a great unit.

Been playing with it a bit more. Found some quite nice sounds on it, but still having a few issues. My Zoom expression pedal doesn't seem to work with it - I've got it plugged into the FX return, like you're supposed to, and it's not being recognised. It's a standard expression pedal with a TRS cable - any ideas?

I’m probably making a bigger deal that I should but it’s annoyed me they’ve sent out units without fulfilling the preorders.

 

I have an email from them saying sorry if you saw them for sale on the website but we’ve not received our order yet, it should arrive on the 8th.

 

Would love to send them your order numbers to call them out on this if either of you are willing to DM me this info?

 

Again a wholly pointless exercise and I’m glad you both have them, just a little frustrating as I’ve been waiting weeks to order one and will have waited 3 weeks from paying for one when I could have just had one next day several days ago.

Might need just a TS cable (off the top of my head but I could be wrong)

I think Zoom expression pedals are wired differently - I couldn't get the 2 expression pedals I already had to work with a Zoom B3 I had unless I forked out for a Zoom one.

definitely having you on there. They’ve had two batches in since first one in April. 
 

still could be worse, ordered mine from andertons at beginning of may. Told me they had ten coming in a week, still waiting…had the opportunity to go for one from guitar guitar in July when they were available but as I’d already paid in full I stuck with it assuming supplies were being distributed equally

Will DM my order number now. There was definitely something weird going on with this order as it was still shown as 'processing' when it had actually been delivered and I hadn't received any despatch notifications or delivery details.

I had an anagram (and pretty much every other modeller it seems) and I keep coming back to the QC. Even with parallax now available, I still prefer the tone I’ve made and I’ve yet to find something elsewhere that sounds as good to me. But I do run a complex chain on the QC tbf.

 

Anagram is great and probs would have done the job for most instances. I preferred it to the Fractal FM3 and Kemper stuff. But didn’t knock the QC off. Size of the anagram is ace. 
 

I would try both if you can.

Had tracking confirmation that my Anagram will arrive tomorrow. Mrs Buccaneer and I are both at work, so it may well get sent back to the parcel place. But keep everything crossed, I’ll leave work as early as I can! 😀

The suite is awful IMO. Fine for loading NAM profiles and IRs… but not much else. 
 

Hopefully Darkglass fix it. They’ve been good with updates so far.

Hopefully Darkglass fix it. They’ve been good with updates so far.

I mainly use it to backup the presets I have created just in case of user stupidity! 🤣 

 

I've also checked out some other user presets from the Hub to see how certain combinations of pedals sound and also use as a basis for some of my presets.

I’m in the US right now (sadly) - I got mine from Sweetwater. Although I’ve been burned in that sort of situation before so I feel your pain!

So I've come to the conclusion that the Anagram is not for me.  It's good, but I'm a little underwhelmed by the range of effects and I foresee issues with its usability in a live situation.

 

Anyone know how to do a factory reset so I can send it back?

I don’t think there’s a factory reset per se. 
 

there’s a new update due tomorrow which will likely improve MIDI (presuming).
