attackbass Posted May 4 Posted May 4 It's not necessarily to do with the anagram, I've been feeling this was about the QC for a while but decided to stick it out for a while with the QC. It's great but underused features why. Its almost like I just want less stuff haha The QC is amazing but probably overly complicated for my needs and with some effects I struggle to get the sounds I want or find how some of them interact with my basses I just can't get the sounds I expect from them. Most notably from the filters. It would be to free up some cash and either at some point go with an anagram or actually just buy a few nice pedals and a tuner.. the Anagram would probably make sense due to the range of drives and also the extra effects that I would use sporadically. I've got a whammy, a phaser and an aftershock already sitting in boxes that all do the job. Would maybe opt for a Dunlop Chancellor Wah, MXR vintage bass octave, possibly a comp to add to that but then I love the clean set up of the QC and dislike my OCD with builinf pedalboards. Let's face it I can do pretty much all my gigs with my bass, tuner and sansamp. 4 Quote

joeabass Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I’ve gigged it for a couple of weeks now on its own. It’s excellent. Even in its current form, although I do wish midi functionality had been sorted at launch. I much prefer the interface and sounds (for bass) compared to QC and stomp…. Like I’ve said before I’m absolutely aware you can dial in great sounds for both as I’ve had both but I just don’t want to sit and tinker. I’m going to dive into the NAM side of things next and see how that goes as the ones that are in the anagram as standard sound very good 3 Quote
MrDinsdale Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Anyone tried creating a NAM profile? I’ve done AIDA-X captures in the past and it was a real pain with reamp boxes and trying to sync audio signals to offset latency etc. I dont need on-device capturing but an easy workflow is a deal breaker for me. Will have to have a go if I get a mo. 1 Quote

Bluetooth he said I hope I’m not too optimistic but it should be a couple of months. Audio over USB was pulled last minute before release, but it’s had 3? firmware updates so far and it’s not there. I’m sure it will all be there, just we don’t know when and if you NEED one of these features you should hold off getting it for now imho 3 Quote

I guess you'd need to do a bit of matching, but it shouldn't be too bad. https://www.tone3000.com/capture 1 Quote

I'm sure I can get a little template set up in logic with all the correct routing etc and see how it compares. Quote

That fizzy top end and seemingly disconnected low just doesn't sound good to me. It's not compatible with me neither. I had high hopes for a Vintage Ultra but was so disappointed. I will check out the videos of this but Darkglass are on my 'nope, won't be for me' list. I don't really do digital without a fight either 🙂 Edited Tuesday at 11:44 by markorbit 2 Quote

I lent it to him and he loved it so it was an easy sale. I'm not going for an Anagram though. I've decided to go mostly Analog and down the MXR and Dunlop route, and considering eventually maybe a HX One Stomp for those one off pedals I like having more for fun or for an extra bit of drive. This way I'll have a fair bit if cash left over from the QC sale. Quote

krispn Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I was gigging my board last night and if I shifted it for ana Ana I’d only miss the tone it’s giving me - recently flirted with a HX Stomp again but in the AB test my board won. I think the pedal I’m most likely to add is the Kaamos. It’s able to do double duty of Alpha Omega and the octave down options. While I’m enjoying the Anangram videos I just know a multi would be wasted on me as cool as it is I have two or three sounds which are basically the same just with increasing drive. Now to torture myself thinking about a kaamos. 😀🤣 Edited 5 hours ago by krispn Quote
Killerfridge Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I just heard from Ivan that the Ampeg and GK models don't have a gain control, and you can't push them into distortion. Seems like a bit of an oversight if true 1 Quote

I think I'm going to be pretty strict, and have the bored as a limitation and the hx one there to do any of the delays or pitch shifters I used once in a blue moon. I'm wondering how well the drives are on that too. One weakness I have is I now have artist pricing on Dunlop and MXR so I might get tempted! I had the most success when I had a board of EBS pedals a long time ago, people would comment on the sound to me. Comp, Octabass, Valvedrive and Wah! I'm fact I think you interviewed me about it!
