Neck Cradle

Recommended Posts

Asking the collective here...what do you recommend for a neck cradle. In specifics I want to stabilise basses to file nut slots.

I see people using / recommending all types of things from a bag of rice, those "rocking" supports that you can also turn over for greater lateral support, to the Dunlop black one that looks good to me but a bit £££ if it doesn't hit the spot for this.

Advice appreciated.

Yes. I was looking at that one. I thought it might be a bit lightweight for fretwork but maybe I'm wrong about that 🤔

I just made one from scrap timber, took about 10 minutes all in 👍

With an axe, and a chainsaw for the finer parts of the finish no doubt 🤔

For a one-off... One of those 2 cup holders from Mc'D

Ha. I don't really know what that is but I'll pop into a local outlet and try and take a look 🙂

I made do with a bit of wood and a folded towel for ages then I got one of these, does the job perfectly, not worth an order on it's own but as part of a bigger order (or if a friend is putting in an order) than it's worth it.
