Evening all,

Can anyone help to clarify? One of my band mates is telling me that the bass line for Rock and Roll changes pattern from the rest of the song at around the 2:56 to 3 minute mark. He says that the progression changes to the D early (i think it's bar 130). While I can hear the guitars doing this I can't hear the bass changing from the A to the D. To me the progression for the bass is the same all the way through. Maybe it's my hearing though. Any ideas?

On the disk, there's a 'walk-up' at 2:55, and another at 3:05, neither of which are critical, and entirely 'ad lib' for this kind of song. The basic structure remains he same throughout; he's simply got a little bored of just the riff and is stretching his fingers a little. To be imitated, or not, but is of no real consequence either way. There's a clue in the title of the song.  ;) Hope this helps. :rWNVV2D:

I've always played this as the intro being shorter than (and different to) the verses.

We repeat the intro,  before the solo which is the same as a verse.

...and you'll probably find that all of us play it differently anyway as it's just an end of gig racket that's usually in A😂
