However I obviously did not feel the need for them cab sims are really a form of EQ and dynamics that could be programmed manually on the B2-Four. Incidentally I still use the Free/BadCo patch on my B2-Four that you did for the B1-Four. Edited August 18, 2024 by Chienmortbb 1 Quote

TRBboy Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Hey folks! I don't know if anyone here can help me? My band have just started doing Plug in Baby by Muse, and I'm trying to get an adequate effects patch built in my B2 Four. I've got pretty close, but just not quite there.... Any advice welcome! Not sure if any of you have experimented and successfully gotten near the thousands of pounds worth of effects that Chris uses 😅 So far I have an Octaver, Envelope, drive and fuzz, plus a noise gate at the end. Thanks! Quote

It's the most comparable model in terms of functionality, although I miss some of the effects that were in the B3. It's good though, and has some good improvements, the dedicated bypass footswitch is great. The B6 was not a consideration for me, I only use a handful of effects really. I was curious about the Boss GT1-B too, but never got to try one out. Edited May 12 by TRBboy 1 Quote

Good to hear you’re happy with yours and the choice you made! I would only be using it mainly for preamps/amp sims and was leaning towards the B6 because of being able to have more control of the IRs and cab sims. But, as I only use a few effects the B6 may be overkill. Also leaning towards staying with zoom as I’m familiar rather than the Boss I think I’m leaving it in the hands of the gods and see what comes available at the right price first! 1 Quote

Yeah that was a deciding factor for me too, my familiarity with how zoom gear works. Where are you based? You're welcome to come and try mine if you're anywhere near Hereford (doubtful, nothing's near Hereford🤣). 1 Quote

I’m not a million miles away from Hereford but too far to justify it though I’m afraid. (Telford, Shropshire) 1 Quote
Si600 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Opening the heavily sealed door marked "GAS - do not open your wallet" would I benefit from a B2 Four to replace my B3n? I have no problem with the B3n, and don't really need to change it, but you know how it goes. Newer is obviously better, but is it really in this case? Quote

I would have gladly traded up my B1-4, which has the same chip set as your B3n, for a B2-4. But I keep come back to the editing software on the B2-4 only being for iOS and and not Android/PC. Why?! dave_bass5 Posted 20 minutes ago Posted 20 minutes ago (edited) Ive had the B2-Four 3 times now. It's really nice, and the only reason I dont have one now is it started very quickly to be a distraction, always tweaking things etc. Also I got turned on to IR's and these work better for me than the Zoom stuff at home. Ive still got a MB-60 and B1-Four, but never use them. I did have the B3n years ago. Ive also had the MB-60+ twice, but got rid of them for the same reasons above. One thing I can say about the newer versions are they do sound better. A bit cleaner and more open than the old ones. The different DI Outs on the B2-Four actually make a difference, and I found I was justing just that feature for a bit. Ultimately I find all these boxes seem to have a bit of sparkle missing when I use headphones, but not so much when using an amp. Im an iOS user but have never bothered with the app, other than a customary look when I got the first B2-Four. Im more a hands on guy, and I feel I need to know what's what incase im at a gig or can't use the app to make adjustments. I found the B2-Four really simple to use one I figured out what does what and where to find things. I like the extra foot switches on the B2-Four, I think they make for a more versatile pedal, especially live once you get the hang of them. Edited 19 minutes ago by dave_bass5 Quote
