Must agree with @Stub Mandrel above. A deaf person running for a bus would be hard-pushed to tell the difference. If I need an oscilloscope to pick between them, the punters down the Maggot and Corpse won't notice either.

Have to agree.

Thank you.

Hangs head in embarrassment and quietly shuffles off to the corner.

No need to 'shuffle', you could have borrowed a car and driven away.

Appreciate they’re not Fenders but it seems Andy Baxter has decided that vintage Musicmans are now worth £3000 that they were a few months ago. Wish he’d have done that before I sold mine… 🙂

Those he had in were collector grade so a premium is expected. I’ve not seen many in such as new condition and they seem to have sold well.

First year, radio knobs, long poles… Mental price though 😊

You know it’s how the vintage game works. Stick them up for mental prices and watch the rest of them rise up a few hundred quid in response.

The laws of market dynamics don’t really apply when buyers are treated this way. (We have a classic imperfect market…)

When I was working in the vintage guitar trade I was told in 2008 by a solid UK source that there is a group of vintage dealers in the States that get together each year prior to a trade show and certain vintage prices are set from there, and like you say, the rest follow and other vintage gear rises accordingly.

Wouldn't surprise me.

The prices steadily rising is a signal these things are rising and investable commodities and that the demand is healthy. I question both assertions. But I’m old and cynical

I’ve never been an expert by any means - every time I think the prices may have hit a ceiling, they continue to climb and climb….
