NBD - Spector Euro 6 LX

Recommended Posts

I really don't need this, but it looks nice. Bought 2nd hand from GuitarGuitar Birmingham last week.

Learning curve is pretty steep as i'm usually on 4 strings, but i'm getting there. Not brave enough to gig it yet.

Nice. That looks like a right goer.

My other basses are all passive P and J types, this is quite different obviously. The preamp is crazy had to turn it right down, less is more with this thing.

Remember, if it has a Tonepump preamp - check if it has a trimpot (clock dial) on the side of the pre-amp box. If it does - turn it down to halfway....

These are great beasts, I used to have 3 of them, I liked the one with the TW pickups the most. (The only reason I don't own one is that I have a US Spector 6)

Congratulations for having it and I hope it will be a long time partner for you.

I honestly think they are capable of doing anything a sixer should with strong and articulte lows to clear highs and all this coupled with a very ergonomic design.

As @cetera said the preamp needs some time to get used to but once the trimpot is fixed and the bass / trebles settings are understood it is a really useful preamp.

Have fun with it and go, gig it 🙂

Fantastic basses, I had a poplar burl 5 and I recently bought a maple 4LX. As mentioned, try winding the preamp gain back a bit using the adjustment screw unless you've done it already, or you just love the sound of your amp clipping.

Also, this should be the forum motto.
