I tend to dip in and out of Alborosie tunes , I used to play a lot of his basslines, I’m liking this and we all recognise the bassline

Is there an original version of Marley's Iron Lion Zion without all the posthumous production and overdubs? Heard it on the radio today and was amazed by how awful I thought it sounded. Would love to hear Bob's original if it exists.

As far as I know this would be one of the original versions before it was remixed in around 91 I think, it’s a lot slower and you can hear the basssline , it’s on the album Songs Of Freedom Rarities , is this the one you heard myke?

That's much better. Yes, the posthumous hit hardly sounds like a reggae track. Thanks Tony 👍

Not perfect and pretty much straight on stage with no rehearsal (I had never played with the drummer until this song) due to some travel issues but was a thrill to play this with Al Anderson who played on the original. In Wrocław, Poland last week:

Thank you! It was a pretty special moment. To me, anyway. And we had a great crowd:

Its Dancehall Friday...and I'm gonna do something a little different. I'm going with some Americans!

Bornjamericans had a string of hits back in the day...on well worn riddims of course :P Enjoy some 90's US Dancehall vibes this weekend.

Good tune Tandro, on hearing that this came straight to mind , old classic

Classic! I would venture to say this would be the best known song on the Stalag riddim

Went to a Mad Professor gig last night, live dubbing. Was a good show also with Joe Ariwa and Ariwa vocalists Abel Miller and I Jah.

And a highlight for me was a new mix of this:

If you like Bitty McLean and Sly and Robbie, which I think is a great combination, I’d recommend giving the album Forward a listen, really enjoyed it

It looks like his only UK show this year is at Reggae Land (2-3 Aug Milton Keynes), big lineup.
