Bass chorus

oh my, thats a hard question to answer if you don't know what a chorus effect sounds like. Best way to describe it is to list some famous bass lines that use the chorus effect, then you know what the sound is like.
Erm....Nirvana - Come As You Are uses a fairly deep and quick chorus effect with a bit of reverb, sounds metallic, swirly, hard to put into words, listen to the song and you'll know

can any one tell me what a 'bass chorus' pedal does and how it makes a bass sound? i would like to know if its a worthwhile investment for a rock/metal sound?
thanks in advance!

It adds several voices of your bass to the original one and fluctuates their pitch at a chosen rate so that you can perceive them as a 'chorus' of basses (if they were all the same pitch it would just sound louder).

Yup it's flanger, though he does use chorus in other songs (can't remember off the top of me head, I'll have a quick listen). Boss BF-2 for flanger and a CE-5 for chorus. IMO JC's chorus is a bit more subtle than the sound on 46 & 2. All in all though, the two still sound fairly close to me.

Paul D'Amour's chorus on the Opiate EP stands out a bit more I reckon. No idea what he used though, I don't think CE-5's were out then.
Close. It was an EHX PolyChorus.

They still sell reissues of it, but it's pricey. Very versatile though.
Nah Kurt didn't pick up a Poly Chorus until In Utero, even then he still kept his Small Clone for some live stuff. He only used the Poly Chorus on Scentless Apprentice, Heart Shaped Box and Radio Friendly Unit Shifter. At least according to this site anyway -

I really wanna try to recreate something similar to the RFUS intro on bass. Gotta get me one of those pedalboard hogs one day.
