Aye, but that burst is severe. It reminds me of those Winfield guitars I used to see in Woolie's as a kid. And I thought they were shite.

I had one of those Harleys. It was much, much better looking than the one in the OP. And it played very nice, although it was pretty heavy.

I've seen that horrible noburst on basses before, can't remember what brands but none of them were ones I'd want to own and I love a cheap bass or two. Youtube demo here:

 

Agreed they are just bolt together bitsas with reshaped headstocks, not exactly warranting the "Rowland Custom Shop" logo.

That's weird because the neck on this one looks like a cheapo which has had its headstock crudely reshaped, definitely looks agricultural compared to the rest of it:

 

The more observant amongst us will notice different coloured control knobs. Seems like quite a few "luthiers" are taking cues from the master!
