TRADED!! Spector Bantam short scale
£1125
Taunton

Recommended Posts

Short-scale Spector in Trans Black.  30" scale with 22 frets.  Construction is alder body with quilted maple top and 3-ply hard maple neck with side-marked Indian Rosewood fret-board.  2 x EMG 35DC (active) with EMG BTS EQ.  I bought this new on a whim from Bass Direct because I just couldn't help it - easy to see why!!   It has hardly been played at all and is absolutely as good as new, hence the firm price.  This is a beautiful thing and is only being sold because something has to go and all my other basses are beautiful too.  I'll grab some pic's of mine tomorrow but in the meantime here are some library shots that show the stunning finish to full effect (just spotted they are of a left-hander, which mine is NOT).

Could be the last chance for anyone interested in a Bantam to get one! They have ceased production on these now so they will become a sought after instrument....

Not enough light for decent pic's yet so in the meantime here are a couple of things I missed in my OP:

Neck width at nut = 41mm; weight approx. 3.7kg; this bass is very comfortable to wear/play thanks to concave sculpted back; it might be called 'Bantam' but this thing packs a helluva punch; Gator hard case included; happy to travel within an hour's drive from Taunton to deliver/meet up; or will pack for shipping if buyer arranges/pays freight (i.e. ownership/liability passes to buyer on collection from our house).

...and a link to the great review done by our Dan, aka Dood, that sparked my interest:

Not unless I've missed something 😉 - but thanks for the bump.  It's one of those situations where I'm selling a bunch of stuff and won't be disappointed if this remains unsold - it really is that good.

Sat here all afternoon playing a Spector shorty and avoiding work. Boundless fun. I’m sure the Bantam is every bit as good - true Spector quality without the immense US price premium. Get some fun over Christmas

I can’t believe this is still here. I played a similar Spector SS at the SEBB, superb basses.
