Still the foundation of my clean tone, although board has been revamped a tad. 😁 Still in love with the Noble + Cali after six years… Edited March 19, 2024 by ordep 1 Quote

Also am now listening to your EP too and really enjoying it. Edited April 12, 2024 by Quatschmacher Quote

I mean, it's more lush (cos a P Bass into a V4B is pretty sublime already). I have the DI at the end of my pedalboard chain sent to FoH, the V4B is just for me on stage. Tend to keep it pretty clean normally and jump on a pedal if I need a bit of dirt. 1 Quote

Thanks very much for this Steve, yeah the P bass does sound really good though the V4B, good to know it works well and sounds great, cheers 1 Quote

I was watching/listening to a vid of a Noble put in front of a B15 with a 63 Precision, which sounded sweet! 1 Quote

A DI box converts the signal to microphone level on XLR, to plug into a microphone preamp. The parallel (or ‘through’) output on a DI does not go through the DI circuitry (and the valve and EQ in the Noble’s case) - it is simply passing your bass signal through to connect to an amp, so that you can take a DI feed before the amp. So don’t buy a DI box in the hope of improving your amp sound- they don’t do that, and they’re not designed to! Quote

The xlr goes via two valve stages, the Jack out goes via all 4 stages. 1 1 Quote
Piers_Williamson Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago This was the vid and this was how the signal chain was described: "Derek is playing a 1963 Fender Precision bass with La Bella Low Tension Flats and a Nordstrand Nordy Mute. The signal goes through a Noble Preamp DI into a slightly pushed 1970s Ampeg B 15 and then a Neve console. Simple. Classic. Sounds killer". 2 Quote

Really like that and great playing, the bass and setup doesn’t get much better than that, I want a noble and a B15 now 😁 Quote

I have to make do with a 77, which is lovely, but probably weighs twice as much. Edited 10 hours ago by Piers_Williamson tidy up format 1 Quote
