I subscribed to She Shreds. Received a copy in January - great! Nothing since then. I'm beginning to wonder if they've gone out of business.

No, it's just that they've run out of female guitarists/bassists.

She Shreds, seashell, by the sea shore. Ha, ha!

I wouldn't even say Carol Kaye was much of a shaper - she was a session musician - but she certainly played on so many really huge hits from so many big artists in the 60s and 70s that she almost single-handedly introduced the signature sound of the pick-played Precision Bass to millions of people... even if they didn't know what it was at the time.

Carol Kaye for sure, seeing as she shaped a lot of it during her long career. Didn't she invent the bass guitar???
[/quote]

No that was James Jamerson, Carol Kaye just says she did.

But not far off. Back in the day when I read it (20+ years back) it was rammed with misogyny so that's a fair argument.

I haven't read a Kerrang for a good few years now, but a lot of music magazines still are.

That's alright then, I'll calm myself down!

(*Mumbles to himself*... "still don't know why Sara Lee wasn't mentioned... bloody lists for this and that and the other etc etc and no Sara Lee...")

Maybe because of her horrendous chocolate gateauxs?
