spinynorman
The Kerrang one is ridiculous. "The Effects of Hurricane Andrew in the Bahamas" "National Register of Historic Place Listings in Medina County, Ohio" "The Book About My Idle Plot on a Vague Anxiety" I suppose there wouldn't be too many other bands with those. Edit: the Vague Anxiety one turns out to be an album title, by japanese math rock band Toe. Whatever Math Rock is. crag42
I've always thought if I get an 80's band going I'd love to call it "The 8 T's"

CamdenRob
The band name generator has given me 'Fierce Shoe' and 'Horny Nudist'... Given that I am asked for my input in band names roughly once a decade thats me sorted for a while.

Mark Dyer
Why not use the topic of this thread as your inspiration and consider... 'Name Generator' or 'Coming up with Name'
Count Bassy
It's a bit of minefield. First you think of a name that you like, so you do a bit of research and there's a band out there that already has it. Start again, you think of another one and hey presto no other band by that name but the rest of the band hate it....And round and round it goes. I'm in the same situation....
How much should you worry about using the same name as anyone else? Twenty years ago you could have the same name as a band 50 miles away and you'd never know. Nowdays you get worried if a band in the states has the same name. I guess it depends on if you're aiming for world fame, or a few local gigs. Dr.Dave
I did a demo thing with my mate Nicola a bit back that we dubbed ' Nicotina Diamond-White and Benny's Fit Scroungers' but my fave remains 'Dicky Hart and the Pacemakers'. Westie9
It's a nightmare!!! Came up with what we thought to be a great band name, only to find out that if you sign up with an agent they want a different name in case the potential clients book you independently !!!
