MuddBass Posted November 20, 2013 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Hi All, I Currently have a Genz Benz Rig - a GBE 600 head paired to a 212 Neox Cabinet. The head is rated at: 8 ohms - 275 watts 4 ohms - 425 watts 2 ohms - 625 watts The 212 cabinet is 4 ohms (upto 600 watts). [u][b]MY QUESTION:[/b][/u] If I add a 112 Neox cabinet (8 ohm 300watt) to the rig, will the head cope? xgsjx Posted November 20, 2013 Share Posted November 20, 2013 The Ωs would be 2.6, so the amp should be fine & there should be a fairly even spread over all 3 drivers. So yeah, should be fine. warwickhunt Posted November 20, 2013 Share Posted November 20, 2013 If the head can do 2/4/8 ohm loads then you have no problem with the amp (the load will be between 2-4 ohms). The 2x12 won't have any affect on the 1x12 load as such but sensitivity dependent one might be working harder than the other, in which case use your ears! [/quote] Normally Lozz would be right, if the cabs were matching resistance, but because the 2x12 is 4 ohms and the 1x12 is only 8, it'll be evenly spread, all getting somewhere around 150/160w. You should be fine with them, just use your ears and check for any signs of one being pushed too hard, as has already been mentioned. Will use the 112 for smaller gigs with its built-in monitor stand.
