KiOgon 695 Posted November 2, 2013 Yes ideal - you can get wider tape or even sheets - less joins 1m would do a P bass I reckon.

Thunderbird 382 Posted November 3, 2013 Just to clarify to I cover the whole inside of the control cavity ie just stick the shielding over the wood and everywhere inside ? Thanks
paul_5 1,174 Posted November 3, 2013 yup. If you want to be really thorough I'd do the pickup cavities as well.
Mr. Foxen 7 Posted November 3, 2013 Probably need to solder that stuff, but you don't need to do whole seals just enough its all electrically connected, I usually do a smear of solder where three pieces meet.
yorks5stringer 1,828 Posted November 3, 2013 Or buy the stuff with conductive adhesive, then you don't need to solder at the joints....!
paul_5 1,174 Posted November 3, 2013 I used some aluminium tape that I found in Aldi a couple of months ago - Aluminium is really good at magnetic shielding too! It's supposed to be for pipes or gutters or something of that ilk, but it's really good at bass cavities as well.

bartelby 1,135 Posted November 3, 2013 I recently used that seller. The delivery took 3 days, not one, but it was free delivery so you can't complain really. They do copper tape with conductive adhesive for £4 for 4 metres.
