Conman

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone from a newbie.

I still bid on it to see if he was for real. I've won but not heard from him, surprise surprise. Told him he was a conman and I was leaving negative feedback.
I would'nt have touched it with a barge pole. you cant fault him for the description. he said it was rubbish. i dont think you can leave negative feedback now though. reprt him to ebay iif you dont get the goods.
Did you look at the ad ? I'm not bothered about the guitar and amp, I've bought and sold plenty of them on Ebay. It's the description and the fact that at the bottom of it in tiny writing he's put

"This is just the book from the fender kit and not the whole guitar pack".

Have a look at the size of the description font and then look at the font for the above line. He was obviously trying to con someone into thinking they were getting the guitar and amp but it was only for the book.

I read the ad but missed the small print. i still would'nt have paid £37 for the guitar pack going by is description. wht didn't you report him instead of bidding.

Seeing as how ebay make it difficult to alert bidders and do little if anything to stop blatent scams, it seems a reasonable enough thing to do. As long as ebay don't give you too much grief if he files a non paying bidder report...
I don't see what the OP is getting at. The item for sale is described, and the small print refers to the image, to avoid confusion with the original packaging, which presumably no longer exists.
So the small print doesn't refer to what he is actually selling? :)

I can now justify my online pornography subscriptions to my missus.

It's 9.32 on a Saturday night, and instead of being out gigging with a band I'm stuck indoors on my bl00dy computer, but I can always count on BBC to raise a smile - albeit in a 'oh no he didn't' kind of way :)

i can see what the OP is getting at but i dont know if i would have gone as far as bidding on the item "to stop someone else getting ripped off" and then start a thread about it on BC. This sort of thing is pretty common though isnt it, so if someone gets scammed by it then let it be a lesson to them. If someone was to get scammed £37 for a book when they thought they were getting a guitar starter pack then it's not the end of the world. The fact the seller has "0" feedback would alert anyone with any kind of common sense to take a closer look at the listing and if it was expensive then you should get in contact with the seller directly anyway to possibly create some sort of rapport just for the sake of piece of mind.
this is just another example of why i avoid ebay as much as i avoid trapping my nob in my flys after i take a piss
