Hi,

german bass player wanting to join, if that's okay with you guys... ;)
Some facts about me:
- first picked up the electric bass in 1987 when I was 15/16
- I like old Fenders (yeah, I know...) and small tube amps
- I play in two bands (Rock and Praise&Worship)

So much for now.

Looking forward to some interesting and inspiring bass chat,
Chris.

Welcome Chris.
Which part of Germany do you live in?
I used to spend time in Ludwigshafen/Mannheim during my BASF days.
A fine country.
Ludwigshafen is actually not that far away from my hometown. About 60 km south from here. I live near Mainz.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody!

Hey Chris - and welcome. Mainz is a good place, did a good gig there once in the SWR studios. I've just come home from a five week tour of Germany. Been touring there since 2001, about 10 tours by now, and sadly the most I can say is 'Ein cafe zum mit nehmen' and I'm sure I've just spelt that wrong. Anyway - welcome and enjoy!!!

Just shrug and say "Ich verstehe nur Bahnhof" if anyone says anything to you that you don't understand.

Hello! Welcome! :)

Can you play us some German folk metal? If you've never heard of that, it's cool, nobody has. :D

Oh, good, 'cause i never heard of that, either.

No, that is not correct, now that I think about it, there is one band that metalized german folk songs: J.B.O. - that about what you meant?

Perfect! I've just sent it off to my friends, who actually thought they had come up with it off the top of their head. Let's be honest, if you think you've thought of something that hasn't been done, a German or American has probably already done it.
