Disclaimer: I don't actually own either of the original analogue pedals, so my experience is based on Line6 models of them - which are usually judged to be pretty good. thisnameistaken Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 Fuzz Faces are good but you need to add a deep bass signal to it really to make it work. The Chunk Systems Brown Dog is really good for this stuff, and apparently so is the Iron Ether Oxide - I've never tried one but that's what it was designed to do. I've used a Woolly Mammoth (clone) which is pretty much based on Fuzz Face circuit. Had good results from a MK1 Marshall Guvnor too. Also I had a wooly mammoth clone called a fuzzy elephant lol which was really good and synthy so i suppose the wooly mammoth would be good.
