darkandrew
My son was watching High School Musical 3 this morning (don't ask !) and I spotted this bass but couldn't identify it: at 1 min 46 secs. It appears to have Les Paul style controls, a double cutaway body, a bound body and fretboard but I can't make out the logo / name on the headstock. My first guess was an Epiphone due to the Les Paul similarites and Headstock shape but I can't find any Epi's that look like this one. Any ideas (other than getting my boy to watch something else)? Cheers. Edited August 4, 2012 by darkandrew
Gordon Thudmaster May
Looked like a Framus! But did you see the girls that the violins were playing?
icastle
I'm going for Epiphone. This is based on years and years of extensive bass experience... and the fact that you can see the logo on the headstock at 02:57...

darkandrew
Hi there, looks like one of these to me!! http://www.guitarmag...-guitar-review/
Thanks, that looks like it. Here's a You Tube review (in German): It's quite a handsome bass and for only £255 from these guys http://www.promenade...k/Washburn-WB66 probably quite a good candidate for buying and upgrading the pickups and electrics, although the bass in the German review doesn't sound too bad with its stock pickups and passive tone control. bigsmokebass
Not that I know a lot on this. . . . . But seen as Washburn made a Miley Cyrus (whatever her character was called) signature, who's a Disney "star" of whom made the HSM saga, I'd say it's the bass in the video above. "Washburn Idol"??? Wonder what it is between Washburn and Disney? 0_o BSB
KevB
That Washburn reminds a little of the Schecter C4 which I had a few years back; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKQWm1STr3o&feature=related
grunge666
It is a Washburn - the 6 string is a Washburn PS7000 - Paul Stanley Signature model. (KISS GEEK ALERT!) I reckon there was some endorsement/product placement shenanigans going on.
