Shave the top of the thumb on your picking hand?

I have hairs growing on the back of my right thumb which sometimes catch on the bottom (in this case the B ) string. And it hurts, plus there's a risk of infection.

So I shave to top of my right thumb for comfort.

Anyone else?
You don't strike me as the slapping sort, Geoff. Other than that, I find it difficult to imagine a circumstance where the back of my thumb would ever be near the string. Maybe it's a five strinng thing. Maybe Elixirs would help if you wanted to keep your thumbs as nature intended.
Can't slap, won't slap! :) Sometimes I kind of tuck my thumb into my palm when I'm reaching across to play the D or G and that's when it catches. Anyway, this fixes it.
