Re: Ol' Lloyd and the boys, massive fan of old, love Lawrence Donegan who was a tasteful, effective player (toted a Jazz as I recall) and My Bag is one of my fave pop basslines. He then went on to become a not too shabby journo and writer, 'Four Iron in the Soul' is a great read. Musicman20 Posted March 14, 2011 Author Share Posted March 14, 2011 Minor update - now in touch with S&T who I expect will be great to deal with, but I have stipulated that I expect replacements for high end basses such as these not being to spec. The damage could have happened at any point in delivery, and strangely they dont seem concerned about that. The cases are hardcases, but I think putting a cardboard box over a hardcase a little worrying because you want the case to also turn up brand new! Normally the weight of a guitar is a risk you take when ordering unseen but I reckon because you're a good customer to all three companies involved, they'll take the sterling back and change it for you. danhkr Posted March 24, 2011 Share Posted March 24, 2011 My Big Al arrived this morning!! Absolutely over the moon with it. Haven't had chance to have a proper sit down with it yet, but first impressions are that the body is smaller than I expected and it is also lighter than expected - both of which suit me fine. Just flicking through the tones and pickups and I can't get a bad sound out of it - the 4-band eq is lovely and although very effective, surprisingly subtle. After such a long wait and spending all that money i would be very upset. Im going to read the EBMM thread later but i hope you get this all resolved as soon as possible. IMO Its all very well having good customer service in getting this rectified but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. @Grand Wazoo. when i was over on the EBMM forums last year you seemed quite high profile over on there. I've had to take counselling to overcome suicidal tendencies, and worst of all, Ive been forced to take viagra cause I couldn't get it up no more for a few months. I'm the same really, this year has been kind of poo so far and won't get much better, this is certainly taking my mind off things. Can't wait to use it with my amp cranked!
