Semi Hollows

I have never played a short scale or semi, but really love the look of them. Would want to try one out first though
2. I can't afford expensive gear either! I have had a fair bit of stuff since coming on here, but most of that was from an initial outlay and then just moved gear on to fund new gear! I currently use an old Antoria bass, second hand beat up trace cab and a tiny terror head ( again 2nd hand from here) quite often have other bass players saying they like my sound though!
3. Just had a look on Their site, seems like they research
4. Looking to buy my first acoustic bass, we did a few songs the other day on local radio, and it seems we quite enjoyed it and would like to explore some more songs. I borrowed a friends vintage one but it struggled with two acoustic 6 strings, a cojon and singer. Looked at the fender high man bass, love that neck but seems they are not much loader than an unplugged electric! Any thoughts would be really helpful.
5. I was just about to put up a new post on this topic, I then did a search and came across this one. I have really struggled for years with this, will give the video a watch and see if I can try it.
6. Ridiculous! I am really surprised by the sloppy workmanship,on this bass! Always thought they turned out top notch stuff!
7. The age thing would be limiting, we advertised for a lead guitarist, and we had a 16 year old lad turn up... He was/is bloody amazing! We gave him the job and he is still with us, a year and a half later!
8. I must admit I do get a bit brassed off if there rant many people there! I tend to try and turn it round though, the other week I walked out into the room while playing, and did side to side shooting motion, just for a bit of fun, they all cheered and looked more animated so seemed to have a positive effect!
9. The white one I had wasn't bad weight at all! Not as heavy as my aria SB! Had to sell it as needs must, but would love it back !
10. A couple of the guys in band I used to be in were quite pally with the singer from Ned's atomic dustbin, who were pretty big in the late 80s
11. Cheers Chris, had a few last night and it was that bass tone to die for lol! Still sounds pretty good today though
12. O yes I can see that now, does look like a massive crack!
13.
Morrissey gets a very bad press; I can state from personal experience that - in the flesh - he is charm personified. When he had the flat over mine he went away for the weekend one time and left a tap running. About ten o'clock on Saturday night the missus says 'Why is there a big bubble on the ceiling?' Next minute it all comes down, water and plaster everywhere. So we cleaned up and put a bucket out then I nipped upstairs and put a note under his door. First thing Monday he comes round, profuse apologies. Workman comes in the same day and by that evening you'd never know there'd been a problem. He even wrote and recorded a short song for us and gave me the lyric sheet which I reproduce below: Brilliant You tell me that the ceiling came down You tell me that the ceiling came down And it did It really did Because you said that it did A cycle trip over the moors A snatched kiss on my crossbar This handsome man stole my clips My bicycle clips Perchance I left the tap on in my flat If I left the tap on in my flat I couldn't help it I really couldn't help it It's what I do It's what I do-oo-oo Meet me at the slaughterhouse gates Oh, meet me at the slaughterhouse gates If you're there before me And you're waiting It's because I'm late I couldn't help it I really couldn't help it It's what I do It's what I do-oo-oo (repeat to fade) (Morrisey / Boorer) .
14.

brilliant!
15. Well I have been a big fan from the early smiths days, part of me growing up is in every song! Will always have a soft spot for mozza
16. Man that's really nice! What's it sound like?
