1. Dave Dearnaley in Cardiff. https://www.facebook.com/dave.dearnaley
2. Rickenbacker seemed alright for Chris Squire. His playing gets loads of praise on here. Really don't see the point in this thread, each to his own. I don't expect to like every bass I pick up.
3. Altough I did get Andy to build one for me I did have a go myself a few years ago. But I did get carried away with the design. Also my son wanted his own guitar version.
4.
Forgive the poor sound quality from my phone - it sounded fantastic live - here is Mick with the Psilos on the strap: https://youtu.be/84asdOSV34g ...and here is Mick with it on his knee: https://youtu.be/J_U9VkTxXos
Doggy looks super ineterested
5. Some pis of the CS that Andyjr1515 built for me earlier this year. Showing how we hid the Smoothound transmitter. Full build thread here. http://basschat.co.u...tely-different/ Also I believe that there were only six of the original built by Jim Mouradian. Others by his son, Ed Roman guitars and Washburn.
6. Been a few months now since collecting the bass. Just thought I would report that it has lost none of its original appeal and is now my go to bass. I am enjoying it more and more as time goes by. So glad I decided to get Andy to build it for me.
7. As an owner of one of Andy's custom builds I feel i have to chip in on this one. I played Kerts bass at the last Cardiff bass bash after following the build thread. The quality of build and the way it felt and played were the reason I finally got in touch with Andy to build my Mouradian style. I wasn't dissappointed he built me an incredible bass. This single cut is an amazing instrument, a huge variety of tones can be dialled in. The feel of the neck is SUBLIME. It weighs almost nothing but still feels tight and strong. The current asking price is ridiculously low for this bass.

10. Just like to add a bit more to this thread. Met Mike yesterday to help fix his bass head. He's a really nice guy who is going to be an asset to the community centre. I have known and helped out there many times over the last twenty years. They have always been strapped for cash but the volunteers have always gone the extra mile for the kids and locals in need. They have basic musiacl equipment and recording kit. But it is showing its age. They have recently lost council funding, ( which was poor) and need all the help thay can get. For those that come to the Cardiff bass bash, we may consider holding there and helping out with donantions etc.
11.
I'm ahead of you both....already planned
Anyone who comissions a bass from Andy will quickly realise that he is almost telepathic whe it comes to mulling over ideas or suggestions. It happened so many times when we were discussing the progress of my build. The Mouradian style. Which I have to say still feels like my best new toy for years.
12. Anything by Ozric Tentacles, Songs or album titles.
13. Look down the page a bit. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/264519-smooth-hound-innovations-digital-wireless-guitar-system/ Best wireless kit i have come across. If you have a ny doubts go to their web site and contact Chris. He is extremely helpfull. http://www.smoothhound-innovations.com/ I did this with mine when I had this bass built. 14. Now if only I could remember where I put that nice piece of mahogany I could start a new build.
15. It's been a whole five days since Andyjr1515 was posting a build thread. Is he Ok does anyone know what's happend.
16. Yep, Pomeroy on bass, did a fair job as well. Rick was excellent as you would expect. Paraded on wearing a glittery cloak. No new material played. Tracks from Yes Album, Fragile, CTOE, 90125, Big Generator, Union and Going for the One. Good to see the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena was full. Although IMHO still too many people trying to video on mobiles.
17. Lovely work again Andy. Was there meant to be a Swift in the truss rod cover?
18. Just back from the gig in Cardiff. Great set of Yes classics. Anderson absolutely nailed it. Hit all the highs and not a miss all night.
19.
In my 38 years of playing I've always been far more disappointed by "name" basses than I have by cheap ones.
Have to agree with this. I have an ancient Antoria P that plays and sounds as good as any Fender. At a recent bash I covered the headstocks on all my basses. This was picked out as being a genuine vintage Fender.
20. Either of these will sort you out.
21. This put an end to GAS, well for now anyway.
22. Well it's been over a week now since I collected the bass. I have to report that even though I was very pleased with it I am now even more pleased. It's really growing on me the more I get to know it. One really nice touch that I hadn't noticed before is on the reverse side of the control cover. I was just having a nose at the wiring when I found this. How cool is that?
23.
That is definitely unusual. What is it exactly?
It's custom made for me based on the Mouradian CS 74. Built by our Andyjr1515. Build diary is here. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/294432-finished-and-now-for-something-completely-different/
24. I like unusual shapes for basses. That's why I have this.
25.
Another AJR masterpiece - sound clips???
Put your ear to the floor on a Friday night between 8 and 9pm.
