I realise that in this climate stuff is hard to shift so would like to help those who are struggling to shift stuff as long as they are realistic about what to get in return, if I sell on what I get I will most likely loose out and I don't mind. I enjoy playing not getting money for basses.

    I want to move on my Warwick The bass: 2004 Double buck corvette Natural Oil finish 4 string Ovangkol neck wenge finger board. Ash body Active two band EQ Installed a Just-a-nut 3. Official warwick gigbag, manual, truss rod tool and the wax for the finish, will aslo throw in my waxing cloth. Has some buckle bumps on the back and a nasty looking scratch near the top side of the neckat the 7th fret marker.(pictured) which isn't drastic and it still sounds as it did when new. As you can see from the pictures the damage is fairly negligable. It could use a setup as the parameters that are changeable are far beyond me. It's there to help prevent busting my skin on the magnets (I dig in lots) and to stop the strings *POP*ing against the magnets when I dig in.

    I value a bassist on choice of notes in a particular piece and the sound he or she makes. It's all just a matter of opinion.

[/quote] As I've been in originals, it's kind of the done thing to do a cover or two, usually to fill set time and to hopefully grab the audience's attention. when I've done this the song has usually been boring so I will write my own, or add a fill or two. I covered teenage dirt bag in one band and followed the guitar line rather than the bass. If I was to cover RATM of RHCP I'd stick to the original as much as possible. These are usually known for the bass just as much as the guitar or melody so I'd rather not change it. If it's a pop song majority of people would recognise the song and be happy as long as the melody wass there. I agree though that if it's a covers band or tribute act that it should be original.

    It's been proven by another thread over on TalkBass that in a mix a all that really matters is the pickups and the electrics and then the EQ'ing. Things like build quality and wood do come into it but in a mix? I'm not so sold. My basses are nice, but better sounding than cheaper equivalents. A £60 setup by a pro usually helps things that plays nasty, and most luthiers will sort out dodgy frets for a few quid more.

    Have you seen the state of that bridge????????????? Id rather just get a used original S.U.B. The Dark brown is a nice/interesting colour, although solid hardwood could mean anything.

    I had one in the gold finish, it is by far one of the best bass's in it's price range and the best from epiphone. The impendence selector is great and the pickup position it's self gives one of a few alternative precision bass sounds that are actually usable, and good. I also agree about flats on this bass, very good and you get that double bass sort of sound with flats and the impendance selector, never really found it wooly or undefined though. The one thing that let it down it down was of course the stoopid 3 point bridge, if I had kept it I would have changed it for one of those 3 point replacments. Alos having to have a hardcase for it was restricting on me as I have to walk everywhere with my gear. If I had the cash I'd definatly have one again.

    I play with my bass reasonably high and I can see the frony dots. However I don't think I need them or the side dots to help me play. They are useful on the odd occassion I've become completely lost.
