Bassdude BE replied to Bassdude BE's topic in Basses For Sale
neck dimensions: Width at nut 43mm Width XII fret 56mm Thickness I fret 21mm Thickness XII fret 23mm Will consider trades with a nice musicman/warwick/spector + cash OR a straight swap with a Status streamline / Marleaux / Modulus Quantum / Zon VB4 bass in good condition. There might be other similar basses that i haven't thought of yet, w.h.y.g.? *EDIT: already have an offer of 1150£ on a Belgian auction site so all new offers should exceed that offer ofcourse. -
Stunning, I would be well interested if it was 5 strings!!!!
If it was 5 strings i would probably keep it as the 5 stringers have a thicker neck-profile,unfortunately this being a 4 string the neck feels just a bit too thin for my taste... it could be that i'm that used to the big Musicman-neck's that this will take a lot more getting used to ,but at the moment my L-thumb placement just doesn't feel right... -

Hello all, I just got this, but's the neck is just not right for me so i'm already putting this up for sale/trade again. putting up for sale/trade : My lovely Mayones Victorious 4 Custom. The bass is in a mint condition, no scratches, dings - no such things at all. It's hand made in Poland, left Mayones Custom Shop on 6th of February 2009. The warranty is still valid. The bass sounds GREAT, you can create many diverse tones, though I would say it sounds more like a modern and selective instrument, which is quite obvious when you take a bass' specification into consideration. The action is very low, bass is also well balanced, no neck diving of course. The bass comes with a hardcase, Hipshot Xtender, bill of sale, user's manual and hex keys. spec's: Body: Profiled Ash back & Wenge middle/Eye poplar top Neck: 9-ply / Maple-Mahogany Fingerboard: Ebony Scale: 870mm (34,25") Construction: Neck-thru-body Frets: 24 medium jumbo Ferd Wagner Markers: Bloody red LEDs + side dots Tuners: Schaller M4 Bridge: Mayones X2 two-piece brass bridge Pickups: 2x Bartolini Soapbar Electronics: active Aguilar OBP3 Controls: 1xVolume,1xBalance,1xMiddle,1xTreble/Bass Body and neck finish: Natural wood / Gloss finish Hardware colour: Black Nut: Ebony Jack: Switchcraft for the moment you can already find some picture's here, more pictures will folow later today. wanted price: 1599E / 1370£ => BC price: 1450E / 1230£ O.N.O. (The standard version of this bass goes for about 2500 Euro's and this one has the added led's, hipshot D-tuner, custom finish and so fort, so get yourself a deal! ) Shipment within EU = 45£ reason for selling: The neck is a bit too flat for my taste + i'm not a fan of NT's and would prefer a bolt-on or composite/graphite neck again. Trade in possible: looking for a modern sounding 4 or 5 string, active, bolt on or graphite/composite neck (f.e.: ZON VB4) prefferably in natural / black / grey/charcoal finish. I prefer a trade + cash my way, but might also consider a straight trade if the right bass comes along... greetz
Tim's obviously not trying hard enough..... I've just bought a bass cab here this very morning!
I agree, i've traded and bought 2 high-end basses here in the last 2 weeks alone and i've never found any better deals (and nicer people to deal with! ) than i have found here on this very forum. -

Wow, selling already Iam? I remember you ordering this new last week! So what exactly does disturb you about the neck? too thick? too wide? to potential buyers: As a fellow countryman of Iam i can vouch for the bass being brand new as we talked about his new purchase the day he bought it,only a week ago today, if i still had the money i would be all over this but unfortunately (or on the other hand maybe not... ) i've just bought the Mayones victorious that was for sale here and now i don't have any cash left to spend... Here's a free bump for you bro!

Just traded my Musicman for Sean's Lakland DJ4, and even though the bass was shipped overseas everything arrived in mint condition , well packed and secure, i even got more than i asked for (Sean added some nice extras like new strings, straplocks and a cable that were not part of the deal) so no complaints here! thanks Sean! communication was fast and pleasant, a very friendly and trustworthy BC'er , deal with confidence!
Many thanks to the hordes of people who got in touch about this, I was overwhelmed with interest. I wasn't sure there was much interest in DJs any more but was proved wrong entirely The bass is now traded for the Red Sterling (wasn't he the guy behind The Twighlight Zone? ) of Bassdude BE.
That was "Rod Serling" actually (used to love that show... ) but you came close tho... Hi guys, Up for sale/trade is my 6 month old Musicman Sterling 4 string in a rare and beautifull transparent red finish with black scratchplate. Bought this bass new april 7th 2010 at Music is life in the U.K. The bass has never been gigged , has never even left my livingroom and is in mint condition. It comes with the original Musicman case, bill, warranty card and MM goodies. It plays/sounds like a dream, is set up pretty good and has that typical MM Stingray sound in a slightly lighter and smaller package, The body is a beautifull ash with a nice visible grain coming through the transparent finish (still looks a lot better in real life than in the picture's because its hard to catch something like that on photo, but i tried my best... ) The maple neck has a smooth matte finish that feels really nice & smooth and protects the wood against temperature/moisture issues + makes fast playing really easy. (the Sterling neck has more of a Jazz-like form and feel than the bulcky stingray necks) I love this bass and it has been my baby for the past 6months, but since i like the neck of my friends Modulus i'm thinking of getting a bass with graphite /carbon fibre neck like Zon / Modulus /Vigier and other basses alike...and therefore this beauty has to go to be able to get one of those. Since the bass is just 6 months old and is still in showroom condition i would like to get around 950£ or 1099 Euro for it (open to offers) or trade with a bass (Zon/modulus/Vigier or alike) with carbon fibre/graphite neck (trade with cash either way is possible regarding the value/state of the bass) or a trade with a cheap bass (4 string or a 5'er with narrow neck) + cash so i can save up to buy a graphite bass myself I'm based in Belgium, but shipping is no problem (around 40£ for shipping to the U.K) as i'm a real packaging expert (check my feedback) and i still have the original box to fit around the case. The bass will be bubble wrapped, put firmly in its original case and the again wrapped before putting it in the thick cardboard box that it came with on purchase. I added some picture's, if you want more detailed picture's or have any questions feel free to contact me anytime!

Seems i had a problem with a faulty speaker cable that was distorting the signal, changed the cable today and all is fine! still don't feel like running it completely flat tho, i'm missing a bit of low end here and there, so i'm going to try and mess around with the low end freq's a little bit..
