1. So tempted by this, I've been looking for something to make into a good, epoxied fretless...this is a huge amount of bass for the money! I never got to try this model but I tried the previous DW models and they were excellent. However, are these soapbar cases with P+J coils inside?
2. I always say when the old "he sounds like Jaco" thing comes up, Jaco was one of the best etc etc...I always try my best to sounds like Jaco...better than sounding like me, a thoroughly mediocre player next to Jaco!
3. I'd love another Kubicki! One of the best basses I've ever owned!
4. As a sort of guideline regarding the price, 4 years ago I bought a 1989 pre Fender Kubicki Ex-Factor here for £600 on the boards (Bassworld) when the economy was doing better. So if that was what was gained for the more desireable model, perhaps your price is just a tad high.
5. A rough price would be very attractice too...
6. Since this one popped up I've been so tempted...if only it had black hardware! It would make a lovely bass to defret as a counterpart to my fretted thumb!
7. beautiful bass! Shame about the high price or I'd snap it up! Barts/fretless/6 string/Zebrano - fantastich!
8. I just dodged the pedal thing and went straight for one of these!
9.
Excuse my rant..i just dont get the Flea thing, Meshell or Pino are simpler and way better..
Different vinegar strokes for different folks. I'm not a huge fan of Flea but as it happens, I can't stand Meshell and I'd rather listen to say, Stuart Hamm any day. Shock and awe! Personal preference mate. Of course, Victor Wooten is incredible, it goes without saying,
10. Bugger me, I didn't realise these were that expensive new! I remember seeing a lovely one for sale in Guitar Guitar for £600, it was a nice bass. Still, even though I love Warwick, their new prices are outrageous!
11.
Right Here, Right Now is a live CD that I have, not much better.
I used to have the dvd of that, it was a load of crap.
12.
The Level 42 one was different. They were an up and coming band, and I was obsessed with Mark. I wrote to him asking how he got his sound. His ketter was really detailed, with drawings of his graphic Eq settings. It was really personal.
Thats very cool indeed. Mark is absolutely incredible.
13.
I have a letter from Stanley Clarke from the 70's. Well, actually it's a typed letter with a print of his signature. I have a hand-written 3-page letter from Mark King, circa very early 80s, just after the Level 42 album came out. Level 42 headed paper and hand-drawn graphic equaliser settings. Anyone fancy buying it, BTW?
Pray do tell what these letters are about!
14. I would love these things if they didn't just have the one pickup thats nowhere near the bridge!
15.
mine would be something like new found glory or blink 182, where you have a laugh on stage, can be as immature as you like,
You'll probably tire of that when you're about 22 or so!
16.
Careful guys, he may go the same way as Janek.
I'm not sure what you're getting at, but having seen a few things on TB, I might be able to guess...
17. Looks cool, although they shouldn't come with chrome hardware...yuck!
18. It's about bloody time! Nurse, pass me an Allan Holdsworth model.
19. Either Weather Report, RUSH or the band that Paul Simon used to record Graceland.
20. Those B Quads are very well respected, IMO the coolest bass Peavey have ever made!
21.
Played well for the time they were out there, just an old relic now..and more likely surpassed by the top luthiers ..
What planet are you on? Alembic have continued to push boundaries and they are still as popular as ever. I'd go as far as to say that no other luthier can compete with Alembic in terms of sheer talent and skill when it comes to making high end basses.
22.
HA HA NOW i get the joke he is sh*te !
Yep, you got that right! Jaco is the King. Definitely one of my favourites.
23.
Hi, Nice bass. What is the bar behind the bridge pup with the cable on? Steve
It appears to be a MIDI pickup.
24. There might be if you tell us some more about it!
