Regrettably I'm selling both of my Aguilar DB112 cabs (both with tweeter). I love these cabs and they have served me well for 3 years and never let me down, however progressive back problems mean I need to switch to something lighter. These have a big warm low mid punch (especially paired with the TH500) and have stood their own on some big stages (Hammersmith Apollo, Birmingham Symphony Hall etc). The cabs weigh about 20kg each but I think that plays a part in the tone you get from them. They have always travelled either in the Aguilar covers or in flight cases so although they are travelled they are in almost as new condition. 2 or 3 small tears in the tolex underneath the cabs and a small scratch on one of the Aguilar badges. Other than that these are in fantastic condition. Due to increases in import duty these cabs now retail new between £650 and £700 each so when you add in the covers you are basically getting a buy one get one free deal here for some awesome cabs!! Ideally I'd like them to go as a pair, including the covers, which would be £850 you want to split they will be £440 each. Collection from LU7 or meet within reasonable distance. email me at Thanks for looking! Dave

For sale is this gold top Jack Casady hollow body bass. I've owned this for about 2 days, (brought form here), but having gigged it last night it's clear that I won't get on with the body shape; I came away with a sore right forearm (probably due to poor technique)! Unfortunately I'm so used to Fender body shapes, I can't get used to how these sit/hang! Anyway, it's a shame because the bass sounds fantastic! I kept picking it back up during the sets to try it again but to no avail. I strung it with some D'Addario nylon tapewound strings which sound great; It will be sold with the rounds it came with, but I highly recommend getting some of these on there! The low impedance pickup gives it a real vintage mid range thump, which cuts through without sounding harsh. The 3 position tone switch, which alters the ohms I think (?!) is versatile and makes for easy sound changes. Also has master vol and tone. No marks or dings on the bass and, being hollow body it's nice and light. Case has one slightly dodgy catch but is perfectly usable and sturdy. The E on the scratch plate is just stuck on (as they all are) hence why it's on some pics but not others (I prefer it without). If I did a lot of studio work I'd definitely keep it as an option for recording, but unfortunately I don't and therefore it will end up sitting in the rack gathering dust! Collection preferred but meet within reason. I'm in Leighton Buzzard and work in Milton Keynes. Looking for £410 Thanks!

Saffire not working through Mac Pro on Sierra...?
davebass66 replied to bubinga5's topic in General Discussion
Get in touch with Sibob. He works at focusrite and helped me out when I had the same issue a couple years ago with a software update. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was he told me to do! -
I had a set on my p bass a few weeks back. I have to say they felt and sounded great. That being said they have a much lower output than other strings which I found to be a bit of an issue for me. Went back to Dunlop flats instead. Definitely worth a try though; maybe stick them on a bass with a hotter output

I have [s]2 [/s] 1 pedal for sale: [s]Aguilar Fuzzistor - Been gigged but in excellent condition. Provides some serious noise! Only selling as I'm using the Agro which is more suited to my needs these days. Aguilar blurb: Delivering the deep and textured tone that Aguilar bass pedals are famous for, crank up the fuzz and 1971 will be in the house! The Fuzzistor[sup]®[/sup] provides classic silicon transistor distortion with complete control over the BLEND of the clean and Fuzz sound, amount of FUZZ from subtle to crushing, LEVEL for gain matching, and TILT EQ that changes the harmonic structure of the Fuzz from booming to gnarly £105 posted[/s] Also I have an EHX micro Qtron, which again is only surplus as I'm using the Aguilar Filter Twin. Really nice greasy tone out of this, great for the Bootsy thing! Again, been gigged but in great condition. Looking for £35 posted.
The cab is very heavy tho and I am thinking of maybe downsizing it to two 1x12s. I disagree with the comment that they try to pack too much into the heads. I think every feature has been considered and is very useful in certain applications and makes the head very versatile.
You're absolutely right regarding the heads, I very much meant the original comment as an opinion for myself. I can totally see how it can be useful to a lot of players.

Nice to see some positive stuff about Eden here, I see some of it refers to the old stuff still though rather than the new stuff produced by the Marshall guys. I don't think it helps that they are not pushing it a great deal, for example they are not exhibiting at LBG Show this year as they didn't feel like it was worth it. Just as an update, I used my TN110 at a small acoustic gig last night for the first time and was pretty impressed overall. My concern was that it would be a bit weak on it's own, but powered with my TH500 head it punched through with no PA support and provided a good amount of low end. Possibly not quite the clarity in the mids as the Aguilar stuff I'm used to, but I'd thoroughly recommend the Tera Nova stuff for the price range it's in!

Good shout on the weight, speaking to their sales manager sounds like it's to do with the cost of neodymium. He reckons they'll never go down the light weight route (seems a bit final seeing as how most gear is very light now). Nice to see some love come in, maybe it is just currently not fashionable on BC?! Like the mullet, I'm sure it will be back at some point!

Kind of as the title suggests really! I know gear very much goes in and out of fashion but I haven't seen any Eden content on here for a long time. They're owned by Marshall now and I happened to be doing some work with them and therefore tried some of the new Eden gear. I must admit I'm not a huge fan of the heads, I think they try to do way too much in one unit, however the cabs sound really strong! So much so they were kind enough to sort me out with a TN110 for some smaller gigs that I do and I have to say it does a good job. The terra nova is their mid range series, I imagine the top range cabs are better still. To be clear I actually have a deal withAguilar which for me is just the perfect equipment (for what I do) and if they did 1x10's I would have gone there. The TN110 doesn't lay a finger on my DB112's, but for the money I'm surprised more players don't play the Eden stuff? Thoughts? Dave
