To add to the products mentioned above, a lot of people use the QSC Touchmix because it negates the need for an external ipad - although it does support remote connections to it. Also, worth looking at the Mackie stuff because if you are scared of app interfaces, they probably have the most simple interface out of all of them. Feature wise, the Behringer/Midas is pretty difficult to beat for the money... I've always liked the A&H stuff too.

I think it's best used for testing at home etc... but the majority of people have issues with the inbuilt mixer... having said that, some people don't... There's plenty of people using these devices very successfully.. and there are a few options available to you. A cat5 cable straight to a computer to the device will work. A lot of people go with the Airport Express so you can airplay interval music to the XR device also.

Just thought, you could get a 500 host such as this - http://www.soundskulptor.com/uk/501.html and stick a genuine 1073 in it. A simple a/b(/y) switch in front of it could route appropriately. If you put it sideways on your board with a switch on top, that may work.

Well this is all disappointing reading. Its a nut for crying out loud - why can't they just put one in the post to keep people happy? Whilst we are hanging out praise... Hipshot for me. Unreal.. I asked them about intonation screws and springs... within a couple of days, I had every single plausible combination of screws and springs for what felt like at least two or three bridges. Spot on!

Strictly speaking you should tune your PA to the room but I can count on one hand how many self contained bands do that.

[/quote] To be honest, for most applications, an aux fed sub is an over complication and can actually contribute to a worse mix. If you aren't sure, stick with plugging into the sub and then up to the tops. If you are finding your mix too bassy or not bassy enough, you can adjust the volume on the back of the sub to balance (just make sure you don't set it peaking).

[/quote] If it's powered, it'll have a built in crossover. You would plug your powered tops into the main LR... and the sub into an aux. The problem with this is that without a crossover for your tops, you are going to be sending full range to your tops). If it's not powered, you'll need to signals to your sub through a crossover unit before going to the amp which would then power the sub. Same for the tops - the signal for those would go through the crossover and then to the amp before powering the tops.

I've toyed with the idea of getting into EUB/DB... mainly down to seeing StingrayPete on his now and again when I get to his gigs... This makes me laugh this talk of drum gear - why is it as a bass player that doesn't play drums, I'm the owner of a full set of drum mics, a full set of percussion mics, drum screens, a set of triggers... Hell, I have more vocal mics than the lead singers in the band too... And the guitarist has also taken to using my amp too... Go figure. Hashtag mug.

Just caught up with a mate of mine so that he could show me his latest acquisition. These are a pair of UE900s - as mentioned numerous times in the thread - that have been sent off to be reshelled. Having seen a great amount of inears up close, these look great. Incidentally, they have retained the mmcx connectors, meaning that the existing cable from the UE900s can be used (keeps costs down too). Now, where else do you get a set of custom quads for circa £360? (These are a bit more cos of the coloured canals and the custom artwork - but still under £400 I believe).
