So, I tried one today at stompbox, and left £90 lighter. ( if only losing weight were so easy!) This thing Is awesome! The controls mean you can sculpt the sound in lots of ways. I found a lovely gnarly fuzz sound with tons of low end and seemingly no huge scoop. I'll certainly be firing it up at this weekends shows and then report back! My Christmas pressie to myself!!

Really looking forward to trying one. Gonna have to wait a while though

I use the really wide ones- about 3" I get them from eBay. Last pair cost me about 4 quid delivered

Tbh if there was a cheaper alternative, you wouldn't be seeing so many of the darkglass pedals

Peavey used to make one. Not sure if they still do tho. A quick search on google shows nothing though

If you can find them, there was the Marshall DBS 7152 ( Iirc) and the peavey 'big one' (?) They had both a 15 and 2 10s. They won't be light though.

It works with bass ok, but you'll need to check the operating frequency. They changed earlier this year meaning that previously free to use channels are no longer available. There is a thread somewhere here detailing the changes and implications

Ok. I've spent some time with both my vxl and m80. Both will do exactly as You ask. Di out and then from the parallel out on the right below the input to your gk for your clean sound. Btw the mxr can definitely do it too

I find 'bass guitar' by Gregory and vinson to be really good There is a natural progression to what you learn and although it starts with blues and moves on to soul, all the basics are covered well

Iirc my mxr m80 can do that. Not certain about my vxl tho. I'll have a play about and see what I discover

I can get an 8x10 rig ( 2 4x10 cabs) two heads, 5 way stand, pa system, lighting rig plus assorted props etc and 3 basses into my Honda jazz plus our sound man/ tech.

I really enjoy my bass screamer. The eq is nice and useful. It also has the all important blend function. All in all a very useful pedal

You should be able to get pretty damn close with the b3k.
