  1. Got 3 amps at the minute - a Demeter VTBP - 201 pre with a QSC PLX 1202 power amp (Christ, how nerdy does that sound?) which is about as good as it gets imho, a Purple Chili Phat Bass 750 - weighs nowt and looks and sounds great and a lovely old GK 400RBii. The latter is an absolute classic and about as robust and reliable an amp as I've ever come across. Looks classy as hell, too. Cab wise, a Barefaced 610 - amazing - which is the one that goes out most, a Purple Chili 212 - light as and sounds great - which lives in a rehearsal room for now with its head and a shortly-to-be-refurbed-and-sold-on Aguilar GS412 which, though a fab cab, is just too heavy for me to be dealing with these days. I'm on the lookout for a BF 210 for small gigs ( and to use with the 610 on occasion) and possibly a little digital head, though in truth the GK is small and light enough to serve anywhere. I like the idea of gear that weighs nothing but haven't found a tiny digital amp that delivers for me. I've used Mark Bass, Eich, Orange and TC and none of 'em seemed to have much in the way of depth and character. I've heard others using all that stuff and sounding just fine, though, so it's probably me...
  2. Good move on the GK, Rob. I love mine - drive up high and master same. Control the volume with the input gain. You probably know this already. Is yours the one from Edinburgh? Is Techamp the same as Eich? I got an Eich combo but couldn't get what I wanted out of it.
  3. Someone buy this bass.
  4. That's 'andsome, that is...
  5. Well? Ya got it yet? I'm all agog...
  6. Anyone who ever saw Rockin' Dopsie, Clifton Chenier, Flaco Jiminez or any of the other greats would have a high opinion of the acordian as an exciting, funky and expressive instrument. 'Cordians got soul. man !
  7. Change of plan here, too. I lately traded an Eich combo (is Tecamp the predecessor to Eich?) for a Purple Chili rig, head and 2x12. Valve pre and 750w d class power amp. Early indications are v. positive indeed. Weighs nothing, the cab being somewhat lighter than the Super Twin and a lot lighter than the 610.
  8. Pleasure to deal with you. I wish we'd had more time to hang out
  9. Just done an exchange on a Purple Chili head and cab I hope tour mutual satisfaction. Easy fella to deal with, good comms and all as described. I LOVE Basschat Marketplace, man. Deal with Ander87 with confidence, folks ! Shug
  10. Thanks for that. My lack of any kind of connection with even the simplest forms of tech amazes and embarresses me

  11. NOW SOLD! MODS PLEASE LOCK GOOD OL' BASSCHAT MARKETPLACE!
  12. Bought this on here a couple of years back but it doesn't get used so out it goes. The reason it doesn't get used is simple: It's too f***ing heavy, man... One of the original speakers blew so I replaced them both with a pair of Precision Devices 12s I'd had knocking about. Now, these are great speakers but they ain't Kappalites, y'know? Of course, if you're young and strong like what I once was, that won't bother you. You'll just think, "I love this old skool shit and the way it makes me look and sound like the Rock God I am". The speakers alone would set you back more than I'm asking and without the top-notch cabinetry. This a real handsome cab and no mistake. Were I not such a pussy I'd put some wheels on it (75mm castors with locks dead cheap on Ebay), buy it a nice wee jacket from Roqsolid or similar, pair it with any decent head and be ready to roll. But, sadly, I'm old and feeble so here we are. I've got good at packaging lately so will despatch to anywhere in the UK at your cost and risk. It measures about 2' x2'x16''. It's original weight was about 60lbs so probably about 70 lbs or so now with the new drivers. Good overall condition. Couple nicks on the Tolex barely visible and no damage to the grill cloth. These cabs are still in production and a quick Google shows the cheapest new to be £745 at Bax and they don't have one in stock. That price is with the standard drivers, of course, rather than the cut-above ones you'd get with this cab. Any questions feel free. Thanks for looking. Shug
  13. You know we too well, Rob. There's a BF 210 for sale at the minute and only in Harrogate. That'd do me for small gigs, I'm guessing AND I could use it with the 610 for max Roosteresque overkill. Alas, I have no cash... I'll look forward to hearing the Bergantino, mind. All all your RVJF gigs on bass? Have you forsaken the guitar altogether?
  14. I've got a couple, too. As mentioned, Sunday evening at the Rose and Crown with The Merkins and Monday about 4 at the Aspimall Arms with the Cheating Hearts. What rig will you be using at the RnC @ossyrocks? I'd be interested in hearing that SC. I'll be using the 610 and GK RB400 in all likelyhood.
  15. I'm loving this and at a fair price, too. How does one use it into a single full range cab? Do you turn the 100w amp to zero and set the crossover fully counter clockwise? As with the 400RB, for God's sake someone buy this before I have to...
  16. Great, great amps. I have a slightly later one - same model but IEC mains plug. Just got back in from a gig. I think the trick with them is to put the drive and master up high and control the volume with the input gain. Somebody buy this before I do. GLWTS Shug
  17. ' Vomit-inducing'? Is that a good thing?
  18. It is a beaut. Having got it out of storage and cleaning it up I've started to use it on a few shows. Sounds great and looks classy.
  19. Shipping to all regions. Even Southampton.😉
  20. Now Sold. On Face book.😉
  21. I try, man, I try. Still got the fkr, though...
  22. C'mon, Guys. No love for this stone-cold classic piece of loveliness? Did a small theatre show last night - Dylan tribute so not mega loud but not a chamber orchestra either. Master on 9 for max power amp valviness, gain on about 4, eq flat-ish (who knows where flat is on these?) sounded beautiful. Runs quiet as a mouse - no pops, crackles, buzzes etc. Looks gorgeous, too... Less than 2' wide so it'll sit on a whole lot of even quite modest cabs nicely. Only weighs 33 lbs, so not a big carry by any means. Don't know why I'm selling it, really, but my loss could for sure be your gain. Look, I know times is tough, so my best offer to you would be £450. That's £3 a watt - a Leo Fender, made in California, 1970's watt, mind, not your dodgy think-of-a-number-and-double-it digi-watt. You know you want it. You deserve it, frankly. You'll not see another, either, chances are. A genuine, fully funktional, cool as fck, real-world usable vintage classic that won't cost a fortune in maintenance, won't be moody and unreliable, won't break your back or your bank and will, I'd bet money, appreciate in value. I've got a couple of nice cabs coming up that would suit this ol' gal down to the ground and I'd cut a real special deal on one with this amp. Be quick before I sober up and change my mind.
  23. I won't pretend I'm not slightly envious! Atomic Rooster doing good at the minute, though. New songs ! Recording! Festivals and Europe in the Summer! S'all good, man
  24. You and me both, Binky. Same applies to me Rumble 500. Not to mention the quite lovely Musicman head, Time of year, I guess. Thanks, though.
