1. I've seen and played this bass. It looks sooooooo awesome in the flesh. Nicest P bass I've played.
2. It could be the room that is making it sound good ?
3. I'm very interested in this. I'm based in Brighton. Would it be possible to view it ?
4. Just a feeler at present. I have an EBS Neoline 1x12 cab. Only one week old. Only been used on three gigs. Just not right for me
5. 50 / 50 Very happy with the EBS Neo 1x12 / F500 combi.
6. I wouldn't go near Markbass cabs anymore. I've had them in the past and A/B'd them with EBS and Epifani cabs. They sounded like someone had put a blanket in front of the speaker ! I love the Markbass amps. Try the Epifani if you can. Very good for the money. I would have bought two UL112's but at present I'm without a car so I've gone with the EBS Neo's. The Neo's have a smaller footprint therefore easier to lug around on public transport. If I had the cash I'd go for the Bergs followed by the Epifani. Although I'm very happy with my Markbass F550/ EBS Neo setup. Plus I can buy two Neo 12's for the price of one Berg 12, almost... We can all read forums and reviews till the end of time. At the end of the day, what works for you is right for you.
7. I've just settled on two EBS Neoline cabs. 1x12 & 1x10. Done a few gigs with them and I'm very happy. Super light, great sound especially in the mids / highs. Love the two handles that also act as a subtle wedge. I may change the 1x10 for a 1x12 soon. Also done a few gigs with just one cab. The 10 will cope with very small restaurant gigs but lacks a bit of low end IMO. The 12 has performed very well in medium sized rooms with drums, etc... It has much better low end than the 10 obviously. Together they sound great and I think two 12's would sound huge.
8.
Burst works for me, I would have been a bit more trad but still lovely, u can almost dive into that finish for a pleasant swim, Congrats indeed.
I've seen this bass in the flesh. I've never seen a finish like it before. It looks 3D, unbelivable !
9.
Nice playing last night mate, good to see you too. Ill have to come and check out the fodera sometime!! How comes your selling this?
Thanks bud. Fodera get's better everyday. May be keeping this as I've just got a new Neo 12 & they sound really good together, with my Markbass F500. Nice one for doing Casa tonight.
10. Bugger. I just got one of these last week ! They really are great basses for the money. Bargain.
11. Get a clean, transparent sounding rig IMO. That way you can add anything to color you tone but you can't ' polish a turd ' Just my opinion.
12.
Totally my opinion but I don't agree. How did you come to this conclusion? Not starting a war here, just curious. Cheers, Jon.
+1

SOLD

Trade for my Peavey Fretless ? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=53893
14. Tecamp XS112 ? I hear good reports about the 212 & the XS112 is only 22 lbs ! That's the lightest 1x12 I've found.
15. Here is my Peavey Foundation Fretless 4. Fantastic bass. USA built, late 80's early 90's. Really nice rosewood fingerboard, maple neck. Pickups are radius to match fingerboard radius. Passive. A few minor niks on the back of the body, nothing major. They really don't make basses like this anymore for the money. I'm only selling cos I'm after an Ibanez GWB 5 string. NOW £120 !!
16. I've been doing a lot of research on this. I do a lot of local gigs and get to them on the bus. I had a Markbass CMD 121P which was great but the speaker really let it down IMO. If you A/B it with the internal speaker and then an external, the difference is astounding ! I had an EBS HD350 and two Neo cabs which rarely left my home so I decided to sell this rig and get something lightweight with a great sound. I settled on the Markbass F500 head. I'm still trying cabs but so far I've tried EBS, Schroeder 15+L, Markbass ' yuk ' & Epifani UL112. The Epifani blew everything away by miles. Super tight low end, clear mids and classy highs. All frequencies are clear and level and it only weighs 30Lbs ! Alex from the Gallery also highly recommends the Markbass/Epifani setup. I haven't tried the Compact yet and The Berg's are a little to expensive for me at the moment although I hear great things about them. So basically, check out the Epifani cabs would be my recommendation.
17. For the record - I received an email today from Markbass stating that there was a miss print in the manual for the F500. ' The high EQ point is in fact 10 kHz, as stated on the website. The manual is incorrect and we have made the correction for future printings. Sorry for any confusion this has caused ' .
18. I've now done 2 gig's with my F500. Best sound I've ever had ! Had many amps over the last 20 years and this beats all of them & it fits into my gig bag ! I'm a very happy man
