1. When using an octave pedal I split my signal path at the pre-amp output stage, so that I can eq the sub octave separately from the dry signal. In order to get more sustain from the octave pedal output, I thought it might help to compress and boost the signal going into it. I think I'll need a very "squashy" compressor rather than a transparent one, so was considering a CS-3. But then I read on Ovni-Lab that this particular pedal is characteristically weak in the Lows. I'm wondering whether this is going to matter in the context in which I'm thinking of using it? I'd welcome your views, or any other suggestions about how to acheive greater sustain for the sub octave output. I use a Markbass octave pedal. Thanks...
2. I'll have the rack ears off you if they're still available? Cheers.
3. Hello mate - is this a single speakon version or double?
4. Is it the ABS standard depth one, or the slim one? I might be interested if it's still available.
5. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
6. I'll have it please. Not sure when I'm next in London tho, so best assume it'll want posting please. Cheers.
7.
I use this to power my MB compressore. Never had a problem with it.
Interesting - thanks. But it just powers the one pedal, right? I have the Markbass psu for the compressore, and that works fine - but I was hoping to just have the one power supply on my pedal board that would feed everything on it (currently six pedals including the compressore - mostly 9v of course).
8.
Used to use a DC Brick. Faultless, but when I got a TC Nove Dynamics and a Markbass Booster I needed 12v so switched to a T Rex Fuel Tank. Never an ounce of trouble. DC Brick is for sale by the way (crafty plug eh?)
I was looking at a Fuel Tank because I also run a 12v Markbass pedal (compressore), but noticed the MB website says it needs a minimum of 600ma, whereas the fuel tank only supplies 500 (I think?). I take it from your post that that hasn't been an issue in practice..?
9. Does that make me second in the queue? I hope so... PM on it's way. Could you just clarify tho - being second gen, does it have two speakons?
10. Hmm, ok. Well, in all likelihood I'll be heading down to London for work sometime in the next few weeks anyway. I don't always get much notice, but I'll try to find out what the current plans are tomorrow and get back to you....
11. If you change your mind about collection only I might take the Compact or maybe both off your hands...
12. Easy to answer - Yamaha BB1024 (or 1025 if you like having a confusing number of strings). I've had several Fender P basses, and a few non-Fender ones besides, but the 1024 leaves them in the dust I reckon. And not expensive either. Cheaper than a US Pbass for sure.
13. I had a red Aerodyne Pbass a few years back - bought (and sold) on here - lovely looking instrument, but I was never convinced that the tone was anything like as cool as the appearance..
14. I love my 1024. I've had many more expensive instruments in the past - some have been great, some less so - and they've all come and gone in due course... But the 1024 has stayed and wont be going anywhere anytime soon. Absolutely amazing value, even from new.
15.
Trabens are seriously under rated basses I love mine and has pretty much been the only bass I never have the urge to sell GLWTS
Ta
16. No trades thanks Si - dosh needed on this occasion. Cheers anyway.
17. Versatile, well made active fiver at a good price. I bought this as a back-up instrument, and because I wanted to play around with a five string bass - but other financial pressures mean I can't justify holding on to it. It's in very good condition. Collection from York welcome, or I'll happily post/courier at buyer's expense. I'll post pics of the hardcase included in due course - hopefully this evening. Thanks for looking.
18. Hello all - I have a first gig tonight with a new band in Leeds. I'd love to record it, but my boss micro BR suddenly stopped working yesterday (after years of faithful service). It may be fixable, but I won't have time to try before tonight. Just wondering if any kind soul in the York/Leeds area might have one (or something similar- Zoom H2 maybe?) I could borrow (or rent for a modest fee)? I have a good mic, so that's not a problem. Be very glad to hear from anyone who might be able to help. I'd need to be able to collect before about 5pm in York, or before 7in Leeds. We're playing at 9ish in Carpe Diem should you fancy coming along to support a fellow BCer! Cheers. AL
