1. You're lucky - all I got on JMB was various wannabes who think 'goth' = Evanescence, and 'punk' = Green Day...
2. I was at Donnington when they were there - funny as f*ck! Still got the t-shirt somewhere...
3. Aha - cheers for that. Shame it's local pick-up only, as I'm quite tempted!
4. Or don't read your ad' and ask if you want to be in a band that's nothing like what you're interested in!
5. Yep, I've had no luck with them either
6. ''Ello Spider...'
7. Ebay link Not heard of this make before but I like the looks of it. Anyone heard of them?
8.
an unlined board is really in the midst of higher end basses...
Hmm - is that really true? I wouldn't say so. My first unlined fretless was a Kay back in 1989. Unlined boards don't have to equate with an expensive fretless bass.
9. I haven't had problems with the Hercules and my Jazz. The trick seems to be with the rotating arms that you rest the bass on. I keep one straight and the other out to an angle of 45 degrees or so. Seems to work okay.
10.
I agree, I keep looking at videos that are 2 minutes of fingerstyle then 7 minutes of slapping and most people just don't play that way. Even fewer demos are done with a plectrum.
Yep, that's true. Very few demos show slapping, and playing with fingers and with a plectrum. In fact I can't think of seeing one!
11. Interesting! Similar in various details to my BB414, but with some nice extras! Is the bridge standard?
12.
Putting a Gibson logo on a bass that looks nothing like a Gibson is a good idea. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Matsumoku-Westone-Sp...709543184181872
And adding the word 'rare' - are Spectrum's actually rare?
13. How much for the fretless is they were reinstalled? I'm assuming the new stuff has added to it's value.
14. Do you still have the original bridge and pups for the fretless?
15. They're nice basses. I especially like that translucent green finish!
16. I like black basses - always have. I've tried red, white and sunburst but just don't like the look of any of those. I like green basses if the finish is translucent, but not if the grain underneath is rippled, etc. Wood finishes are also nice but not of they're burled - fine for a table, but not for a bass IMHO
17. If it's more than 5 years old it's 'vintage'...
18. My three black basses - Peavey T-40, MIJ Fender Jazz, and a Yamaha BB414.
19. I think the Peavey T-40 has a few bits of design which are inspired. For example, the way the pups work, and how the neck was created and constructed. Just don't ask me to explain how the pups work - I get them in a practical sense, but writing that all down would end up sounding wrong. If pushed, ask FlatEric or maybe I can copy and paste the relevant text from somewhere
20. It's in very good nick too!

A dub remix

Very very nice! I'd bring the bass a bit more to the fore in the mix, but that's just me
