sounds like that could really do with a clean blend.
I completely agree. I've never understood why they only had the AGRO as a rack unit. And I also never understood why the rack unit couldn't blend in the clean signal.

Neat. How's the Chicklet treating you for a big overblown reverb sound, assuming you also use it for bass? I'm quite tempted by one.
-
What happened to it to make it blow up? No funny power supplies or anything? I'd contact the manufacturer.
-
I always liked my Hyperpak/Oc-2 combo for synthy sounds. Plenty of sustain. I am very tempted by running an OC-2 and a Noisebox together though. I reckon that could be the winner.

That's cute. I'm a fan of these PT minis, but I know I couldn't cope with one! Not for the band I'm in anyway I think I know what isn't hitting the spot for me about the M9. I know I mentioned it a little bit back, but I've come to realise that as I scaled back my effects, I didn't actually need the M9 for all that much. I use it for reverb, delay, octave, synth and whammy. Which sounds like a lot, but I don't like the octave effect on it too much, the reverb and delays are really nice, but nothing I couldn't get in separate pedals, and I'm not keen on any of the synths. The whammy effect isn't too bad, but I prefer the WH4 I had for it. So basically there's HUGE amounts of stuff in it I don't use. For the same footprint, and the removal of the expression pedal, I could probably have separate pedals for everything I use on it. If it weren't for the fact that I LOVE the looper on it So I'm thinking of using it as a dedicated looper, with a compressor always on (removes the compressor from my board and frees some space up). Just need to make room for a bunch more pedals on my board then... Crikey So... any excellent small footprint synth pedals?

If you have the money spare for a Deep Impact and you do fancy one, then I say buy it. That is a big IF, but you will be guaranteed to make your money back and possibly more if you don't like it, or just get bored of it.
-
Are they the same filters as in the M9/13? I'm not massively impressed with most of the filters on that, I'll be honest. I can't get a synth sound out of it that I really like. I think if I was using a whole scene for each effect, as some people do, it might be easier. But that's irrelevant for the FM4 anyway
So you stuck a pick holder to the front of your Matamp, I do believe Jeff would be shaking his head right now
Shaking his head? That's a rather conservative assumption of what he'd be doing ;p I love Jeff.

Okay, I've had this cab for a couple of months now probably, and I've decided that I think I just prefer the sound of my Schroeder over it. The Vintage sounds way better for traditional sounds, and that's not what I'm aiming at It is in the same condition I received it in from the previous owner (thestick), which was by and large excellent. There is a slight fraying of the grille in the corners where I think thestick has had the front off to have a look underneath, but I've never even bothered to remove the grille myself. The rhino coating is strong stuff, and the cab is light, but well built - I have sat on top of it, and it has withstood all 14 stone of me, so there is nothing to worry about there The cab is a 2x15 operating at 4 ohms, and will handle just about anything you throw at it. The Barefaced site has it rated at 1200W. I've had my Matamp GT200 running full tilt into this thing with a massive array of disgusting effects and it hasn't ever felt like it couldn't cope. Goes really deep and has kept up with my fairly loud band without a problem. There really is nothing wrong with it in terms of performance, it just isn't for me. I've used it only for practices since I've had it. It is a really versatile cab though - I wouldn't say there is a style it can't do well, except maybe that Marcus Miller type of slap sound. It'll do good sounding slap just fine though It's fairly large, but not overly so. The dimensions are 39" high x 24" wide x 13.5" deep. However, the cab has tilt and roll wheels, 2 side handles and a top handle - all 3 of which can be used in conjunction with each other, or even to lift the whole cab in one hand - yes it's that light! 46 lbs apparently. Moving this thing is not a problem at all. The cab has a fitted Roqsolid cab cover, and comes with the foam port plugs used for adjusting the port tunings. Ideally I'd like to not have to ship it (I'm located in Sheffield), but I am open to it if collection is impossible. As I say, this has seen little use since I've obtained it, so I'm asking for roughly what I paid for it. Looking for £550. Pictures will follow when I can get to the practice room to take some, but here is one featuring dodgy perspective:
-
I'd say possibly something like a Catalinbread SFT? Maybe a nice envelope filter if you're wanting to get a little squelchy/funky with it.
-
Me too! Was distinctly suspicious of how sturdy the cab would be if I'm honest, but it will take my weight sitting on it. Surprisingly solid. It isn't as biblically loud as I had expected either. I'd say my Schroeder 1212 seems louder, but the Vintage will happily be pushed to the amp's limits without trouble.
-
Can't remember if I've posted it before, but I don't think so. Gives the illusion of being smaller than it is, such is the problem of perspective Considering swapping the Vintage out for something more Schroeder-like again though.
pps: how does JJ burnell get his sound ?
Not with pedals.

I own a proper Comfort Strapp. However many P's it has. I used it for one practice, and it went straight back in the box. It is comfy, sure, but it has this weird elastic quality which isn't good if you are an 'active' bass player, as it bounces around. Much prefer my thick, padded Levy's leather one - at least it stays where it is supposed to! No experience with the Mono though. Hope that's a little use.

If the M9 was pants, it'd be fine and I'd have no problem replacing it, but it really is a good bit of kit Some features of it have pretty much revolutionised pedalboards for me.
-
Gah. I have a totally rockin' pedalboard. It looks beautiful (IMO), it is tidy and everything is easily accessible, and all the pedals on it are good quality and sound pretty good to my ears. Over the last week or so, I've really been missing have separate pedals again, after ditching my behemoth board for an M9 and a few extra bits I don't want to go back to a bigger board, but I also don't want to get rid of my M9, as I've grown to love some effects and some of the functionality in it that I can't replicate well in single pedals. It all works fine and sounds fine, I'm just feeling like I'm missing something. Arse. I also think that if Line 6 created a pedal version of their Particle Verb, it would sell. And so would a Whammy modeller with user definabe presets, like the Pitch Glide in the M9. It'd be like a PS-5 but better. They're two of the M9's revelations for me, as well as being able to assign an expression pedal to ANY perameter of ANY effect at ANY time. That would be hard to live without now!
-
I love the OC-2. If you're after something with perfect tracking right down to low B, you'll be disappointed by it, but it has a sound all of its own. I miss the lovely glitchiness of it. I used to have two of them on the same pedalboard, and pretty much miss having one around. I know I can probably pick another one up fairly easily though. But yeah, recommendation for the OC-2 from me, if you want an octave pedal with a bit of character and quirkiness. It isn't for everyone.
-
I've always loved the Ernie Ball expression pedals. Really smooth travel and a large sweep. Don't think I'd like it for a wah though.
-
can you get the fender pedal rehoused into a smaller enclosure if it's otherwise perfect?
-
Haha, what a guy! Wade was awesome too, if you knew him. He didn't work in the shop, but I honestly never worked out what he DID do there. Quite a few people I know from Sheffield went to work there at one point or another

How long ago are we talking? Did you know Nikos? Assuming you worked on the shop floor of course.
