    i've played one from ali and it was brilliant mate so can't exactly judge it before you try, respect to all those manufacturers honestly they on the grind and they'll make anything custom you want

    if there's a signal going in on the interface then it's a bit weird I'd think it were on the software/digital end rather than the interface itself depending on what daw you're using i mean it's a bit obvious but make sure the recording channel is armed to be recording input 1 rather than the second, otherwise unsure sorry

    not sure about the UK but just ordering any of the ones from chinese manufacturers on a site like temu or aliexpress are honestly fine and much cheaper
