1. Hi All, I'm in the market for a new amp and have been seriously tempted by an Aguilar head, simply because I've heard they're ultra reliable and are unfussy, in terms of setting up. I really fancy a DB750 or, if my budget allows, a DB751, but thought I'd ask for opinions/feedback from those that have experience using them? I've done a bit of research and the only negative I've read is that the DB750 has a noisier cooling fan than the 751, I can't imagine this causing me too much concern (although I've not heard one yet), as i'd only use the head for gigging (and possibly some recording). I've just purchased a Barefaced Super 12T rated at 4 Ohms (no Hi-Jacks please ) and was thinking about buying a Midget (8 Ohms) to stack on top for larger/outdoor gigs, I guess this was where the pondering about an amp suitable to power both cabs came in, as with the cabs running in parallel the total impedance would be 2.7 Ohms. I've read that the DB750/1 is happy at 2,4 & 8 Ohm loads, so guess the first thing I should clarify is whether the amp would run without risk of damage at 2.7 Ohms? My thinking is that it wouldn't quite run at it's full potential? But I would appreciate feedback from those in the know to help clear this up for me? Any comments, good or bad regarding the amps (not the cabs please! ) would be greatly welcomed and appreciated! Cheers Guys! Pete
2. Back to the OP, as others have said I think they look super cool and had persevered with the bridge cover for a while now, although I've been depping lately with a band that plays lots of punk/indie stuff so have since removed the bridge cover as I like the tonal change when playing nearer the bridge. Point worth mentioning also, if you've got a Jazz with a Badass bridge fitted, the F stamped bridge cover wont fit.
3.
I've actually lengthened my strap over the last few years
Me too! Although that could be due to my waistline increasing a wee bit over the years!!
4. Looks a bit like me - only my moobs/waistband aint that big! At least he left his hat on.
5. If I may have a look after the good dr, that'd be much appreciated.
6. Just sold a Rat King to Si, nice easy transaction! Would deal with again!
7. Just purchased an Xotic BB Preamp from Markus, great communication and completely hassle free, deal with confidence!
8.
I can definitely feel the bass from my Super 12T [2x12" in the one box]
I like the sound of that! I've just bought Shockwave's used in the Marketplace and am looking forward to give it an airing
9.
No chance of me sellig that one my friend - however good the diabolik may turn out, the TFR is the end of a looong muff quest and is going nowhere at all
No worries Gaz, I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on one from Prymaxe but thought I'd ask the question (I know how much you love it!).
10.
Yes yes, tweeterless 4x12 all the way for me I'll try record some clips after xmas when i get back into the practise room, diabolik and TFR comparison i think... And oxfuzz bass too, unless somebody buys it off me first!!
If you end up liking the Diabolik more than the TFR, can I have first dibs on the TFR please - been wanting to try one for quite some time now
11.
Darnnit
I'll let you know how I get on with it, I've got a B3K, VT Bass and Oh See Demon but have been wanting to try one of these for a while (it's going on my nano set-up) - if it doesn't do it for me I'll pm you if you like.
12. The Echobox is one of my favourite pedals, great for nice shimmery chorus effects & more than capable of fantastic reverb sounds too. Definitely a keeper for me. Roll on receiving the BB Preamp - have heard lots of positive things about these.
13. Bassfuzz.com is a great place to check out some great gear. Personally I love my Prescription Electronics Depth Charge - so much so I have two! Thing is everyone has varying ideas of what they're trying to achieve.
14. Can't be right, surely? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item20d941dc6b

16. Hmm, I messaged the seller too - here's the response I got: Hi There I wish it was a Geddy Lee signature bass, but alas its just a standard American Jazz Bass. As you are only up in Andover, if you pay through PayPal, I will deliver it myself for free... And no, I haven't bid on it.... Edited for typo
17. Over the years I've had a lot of tasty basses (and still have a few, which I hope to never have to part with), it's taken me a while but I've finally come to the conclusion that I definitely favour Fender Basses for playing live, and in particular the Jazz Bass, as I find them ergonomically comfortable to play and they always sit nicely/cut through the mix particularly well (IMO). If money were no object I'd like a brace of old Jazz Basses please, one with rosewood/blocks/binding, the other with maple/blocks/binding - I'd really fancy a 3TSB with rosewood (the one Clarky had for sale was very tasty), but a nice custom colour for the maple, maybe Surf Green or Sea Foam Green. I'd be quite happy with those thank you!
18. Definitely! Here's a couple of pics of one of my regular gig basses - the girl's love it (and so do my band mates!!) Looks fantastic under stage lights too!
19.
Consider this value for money (for the effects/sounds you get), Pete Cornish sells his Fuzz Pedal for nearly £600 lol http://www.petecorni....uk/SAEP-1.html Si
Amen to that, he produces some seriously nice kit but way out of my budget!
20.
I'd have that like a shot if it weren't for the usual reason.
+1 to that - if only I could shift my SS1
21. Bugger! Nice and local but I'm too old! Seems life finishes when you turn 40!??
22. I'll have a go after Oopsdabassist please!
23. Sorry guys - rather than take any more hits and since the reason for selling was to raise funds for the purchase of an old Fender I'd spotted (which has since been purchased), these are now withdrawn from sale.
