1. Bought a PitchBlack Tuner from Nick, all good here!
2.
Outstanding - Girl you knock me out Excited - Makes me wanna shout. . . Go Charlie, Go Charlie!
Now that's a proper front man
3. I used to fancy Lisa Stansfield when I was at college
4.
Ray Davies was a bit off key
Agreed, hope I'm still gigging at his age though!
5.
Lets face it. You're the one up on stage playing and he's the guy without a gig on a Saturday night. I wonder why?
That's always my philosophy now - slightly off topic but when I first started gigging there was, what I considered to be, an awesome bass player doing the rounds on our local circuit - whenever he came into the pub I'd often go to pieces for about 3 or 4 songs and then I'd settle down and avoid eye contact with said player at all costs. It always amazed me just how often he'd turn up to our gigs and after speaking to him he said he used to watch what/how I was playing and use the lines/fills in his band.
6. Hmm, I plan to keep my Mark Bass F1 as a back up and for smaller gigs, and I also use a PJB Briefcase for when we do 'acoustic' gigs. As much as I loved the Aggie Cabs yesterday I'll have to see how the back copes with hauling the 750 around first, on paper it doesn't sound too bad but in reality (flightcased) it's a heavy beast! I'm sure at this point the sound will more than make up for the effort of lifting it from the van to the venue, I was really impressed by the 4x10 though and clearly there's a lot of love for the other cabs too. I reckon I'll see how the BF fares and then maybe, once funds allow, I'll potentially be back to try some of the DB cabs with my ears (and my back). There's nowt like getting old!
7. Meant to add I was suitably impressed with the BF super 12T, liked it particularly with a bit of tweeter added to (although that could change at gig volume).
8. Hi Barrie, I tried an Aggie 4x10 yesterday and even in the demo room it sounded just immense, very tight with plenty of low end too, I hadn't played through a 4x10 for around 5 years since my back gave a load of trouble, would love to pair it with a couple of DB112's in the future when funds allow. I think that's the only way my back could cope with the weight of the Ag cabs. What are the SL cabs like performance wise?
9. Hi Nick I'll take this please, pm incoming! Pete
10. Update - I tried the two amp heads through my Barefaced Cab today.....I'm now the owner of a DB750. Have to say there were pros and cons to both heads, the 750 seemed a bit cleaner to me tonally, a bit less coloured than the 751, although interestingly I had to have the gain/master volume increased by a fair amount on the 750 when AB/ing the amps? Once I'd got the gain & volume controls sorted/level, I thought the 751 definitely seemed to have a little bit of mid boost in the flat EQ (if that makes sense?). I definitely prefer the aesthetics/feel of the 750's controls compared with the 751, although I do really like the thought of all controls being on the front panel, particularly the main power on/off and I certainly wouldn't rule out having a 751 in the future. On the whole I'm really pleased with the amp, first proper outing will be Jan 4th - can't wait to see how it sits in the band mix. Thanks for the all the feedback! Pete
11. Bought a Barefaced Cab from Rob - an absolute gentleman to deal with and a credit to Basschat. Spot on. Cheers Rob.
12. That's interesting feedback - thank you guys. I have to agree about the 750 looking more aesthetically pleasing, I prefer the uncluttered look of the 750 front panel, although I certainly wouldn't rule out a 751 on looks alone, horses for courses and all that. I'm planning a visit to a shop to try a couple out and let my ears decide. Forgive my ignorance but what do you mean when you say the 750 is wired point to point? Edited for typo
13. That what I was thinking tbh, but I had also thought that as the load was slightly greater than 2 Ohms the amp may run a bit hotter (and get the cooling fan working a bit harder)? I guess my thought process was that it may have caused/lead to some resulting damage?
14. Hi All, I'm in the market for a new amp and have been seriously tempted by an Aguilar head, simply because I've heard they're ultra reliable and are unfussy, in terms of setting up. I really fancy a DB750 or, if my budget allows, a DB751, but thought I'd ask for opinions/feedback from those that have experience using them? I've done a bit of research and the only negative I've read is that the DB750 has a noisier cooling fan than the 751, I can't imagine this causing me too much concern (although I've not heard one yet), as i'd only use the head for gigging (and possibly some recording). I've just purchased a Barefaced Super 12T rated at 4 Ohms (no Hi-Jacks please ) and was thinking about buying a Midget (8 Ohms) to stack on top for larger/outdoor gigs, I guess this was where the pondering about an amp suitable to power both cabs came in, as with the cabs running in parallel the total impedance would be 2.7 Ohms. I've read that the DB750/1 is happy at 2,4 & 8 Ohm loads, so guess the first thing I should clarify is whether the amp would run without risk of damage at 2.7 Ohms? My thinking is that it wouldn't quite run at it's full potential? But I would appreciate feedback from those in the know to help clear this up for me? Any comments, good or bad regarding the amps (not the cabs please! ) would be greatly welcomed and appreciated! Cheers Guys! Pete
15. Back to the OP, as others have said I think they look super cool and had persevered with the bridge cover for a while now, although I've been depping lately with a band that plays lots of punk/indie stuff so have since removed the bridge cover as I like the tonal change when playing nearer the bridge. Point worth mentioning also, if you've got a Jazz with a Badass bridge fitted, the F stamped bridge cover wont fit.
16.
I've actually lengthened my strap over the last few years
Me too! Although that could be due to my waistline increasing a wee bit over the years!!
17. Looks a bit like me - only my moobs/waistband aint that big! At least he left his hat on.
18. If I may have a look after the good dr, that'd be much appreciated.
19. Just sold a Rat King to Si, nice easy transaction! Would deal with again!

21.
I can definitely feel the bass from my Super 12T [2x12" in the one box]
I like the sound of that! I've just bought Shockwave's used in the Marketplace and am looking forward to give it an airing
22.
No chance of me sellig that one my friend - however good the diabolik may turn out, the TFR is the end of a looong muff quest and is going nowhere at all
No worries Gaz, I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on one from Prymaxe but thought I'd ask the question (I know how much you love it!).
23.
Yes yes, tweeterless 4x12 all the way for me I'll try record some clips after xmas when i get back into the practise room, diabolik and TFR comparison i think... And oxfuzz bass too, unless somebody buys it off me first!!
If you end up liking the Diabolik more than the TFR, can I have first dibs on the TFR please - been wanting to try one for quite some time now
24.
Darnnit
I'll let you know how I get on with it, I've got a B3K, VT Bass and Oh See Demon but have been wanting to try one of these for a while (it's going on my nano set-up) - if it doesn't do it for me I'll pm you if you like.
