I've added the link to my Feedback to my signature. What's more is I fell damned proud of myself for managing to do it. Hooray for me!
cracking idea if i can only find my feedback thread -
I wouldn't really describe the double jazz pickup as growly. It's a lot more refined and, well, gentle than a Musicman pickup. It adds a real 'ping' to the sound which can work well. I actually prefer the sound of the P pickup on it's own. I definitely think the stock preamp needs to go though. Shame about the crappy exchange rate.
i really like the stock preamp, tried it through my ampeg on friday & it sounds ace.i tend to set the pup pan slightly toward the P pickup & just use the bridge pup to add a little punch. love it.
I had one of these, it was a great bass, superb range of tones from it, and excellent build quality too. I found the string tension a bit high for me strung through the body, so I reverted back to strung through the bridge and found it more comfortable, but then I like some flex in the strings, some don't. Any road up, top quality bass that, enjoy.
thanks mate i'm loving it so far,i reckon it's the best bass i've ever owned. infact it feels as though it's been custom made just for me,& that's got to be a good thing.
Is it neck on body (wood to wood) and then the 4 screws and plate. No other washers, bolts, pins etc... If have never done this before and I dont really want to take of a neck of one of my jazz's just to satisfy my curiosity. Im fitting a jazz neck to a p body if anyone has anything else to add. cheers.
spot on mate,it's a doddle, just slap it on & don't worry about it. don't go too mental when you tighten the screws up though, just do 'em nice & firm.

thanks guys, you're correct--i'd have slapped myself if it'd gone. it is a beautiful bass in all respects + i has a little sentimental value too,a very good freind of mine sold me it & he's in his 60's(if you catch my drift) so i really need to keep it. in fact if i ever offer it for sale again some one call me a twat
