  1. Just bought a Line 6 Bass Pod from Johnny. A lovely lad who lives in one of the most beautiful locations in Britain! Unit was exactly as described too, so all good and highly recommended
  2. Aha! So that's how he causes such iconic wear patterns on his tw@tty Foderas!
  3. More to the point, how is the word actually spelled?! Relic'd? Relic-ed? Relicced? Using the word garlic as an example, there are references to something tasting "garlicky". So maybe the correct spelling should be "relicked" - but that conjours up images of an ice cream that has been licked by more than one person... Maybe the hyphen is all-important? I dunno. I do over-thing things sometimes
  4. I actually clicked on that, assuming it to be one of Skank's fabrications. Jesus, you couldn't make that stuff up!
  5. I reckon a Jazz on the neck pickup sounds reasonably like a P (especially in a band mix). Others deny this and think I'm daft. i don't care. Can a P bass do what a J does? No. Which is the better bass to own if you only own one? The J I would say... Hides behind the sofa....
  6. Looks exactly the same as mine! A huge amount of bass for a silly amount of cash - bargain of the year (so far!)
  7. We need to get a handle on these things...
  8. Sold on Facebook (but to a Basschatter!)
  9. TKS are great cabs. I am selling an H115, which will certainly not compete with two 410s, but is easily loud enough (and clear as a bell) to cope with any backline-only gigs. Lovely and light too... I use a Markbass LM2 with it and they are very compatible.
  10. I'd certainly boost the top end a bit and maybe try some compression/limiting until your technique improves, as volume can be a bit inconsistent. Palm-muting is also a useful skill to practice...
  11. No worries. I'm at the opposite end of the country, so probably just as well! 🤔
  12. Whereabouts are you, and is this sold now?
  13. Maybe people you are neutral about or new members that you have not yet made your mind up about? Mine is 5310. Singer is a relatively new band member, and although I like him, I wouldn't call him a friend. The drummer is a mate and also a work colleague 🙂
  14. You forgot to mention the handles...
  15. Depends. If you play on biggish stages, and move around a bit, and want to be able to hear yourself other than through monitors or in-ears...
  16. Interesting discussion about tolex and customer service, but isn't all this somewhat hijacking the thread?
  17. Not at all! Good luck in sourcing one if you decide to go down that path. Essentially, the Vintage was two of the original Compacts in one box. Unbelievably light for the sound they produce - and strongly built as well!
  18. Don't the Nate Mendel signature P basses have a J neck? Another cheaper possible solution... They get very good reviews too
  19. Have a trawl through the classifieds for an old Barefaced Vintage. A 2x15 cab that is a one handed lift (for me anyway) and is wide enough to sit a "proper" amp on top. I used to have one and it sounded great, but was just too big for the stairs in the practice room we were using at the time... I'd have another like a shot, but there are not that many around and people tend to hang on to them as they are so good...
  20. Ah. Apologies, I misunderstood your OP
  21. Sorry. Facetious comment rather than trolling attempt. Inti (an ex-member on here) took musical snobbishness to elevated (?) heights, to which we mere mortals could only aspire in our dreams (or nightmares). We clown-whores can only... Er, no, wait - he was a git.🙄😁
  22. Inti? Is that you? 🤔
  23. Not trying to be funny, but if your bass is lovely why deliberately damage it? Buy a Roadworn as well? 🤔
