2.
While we're on the subject of Living Colour, I recently snared a copy of one of the early US copies of Stain with the different guitar solos on it. I think its the fifth or sixth version of the album that I'd bought.
Oooh that's quite rare isn't it? Care to share any?
3. All his Instagram photos suggest he's still using old Trace gear - he has an ashdown B-Social and possibly a Retroglide but his gig rigs are trave unless supplies backline I believe I enjoyed the clip, his playing is amazing and his tone for such a light touch is amazing, I really have a lot to learn still
4. If you're replacing the drivers you can buy suitable impedances to wire it to 4 ohms so it makes no difference what's already in there
5. Sounds like a great amp I have to say. Given that you have (had?) an ABM as well I guess we have similar tonal goals
6. I used an OB1-300 last week at band practice, it was awesome with a tiny amount of saturation going on. When the overdrive "channel" was engaged more it was horrible though, IMO
7.
I used one of these when I had a WT550. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/rugged-case-with-foam-interior-n78gg You can probably get the same thing on eBay for less.
Ditto
8.
And one of each will still cost you less than just one of the Kala California basses. In fact, one of each of all four colours will cost you less than just one of the Kala California basses. Just think of the money you'd be saving. Wonder if Bass Centre would give me a commission?
You certainly deserve it, a heroic sales pitch right there
9. If it were me I'd get an Ashdown ABM, it'll cover those two bands with ease and pairs very very well with the SC in my opinion.
10.
And Merton, as they're different scale lengths, they're completely different basses, so you can buy one of each.
Yes indeed, hence my "argh" hehe
11. Oooh, I like the red one! And the blue one! Argh.

NBD - ACG

Very, very nice
13. Gen 1 and 2 were based around the standard Eminence 15" and 12" drivers; Gen 3 uses the custom Barefaced drivers in 12" and 10" formats. The differences between Gen 1 and 2 are as Frank described above
14. I'm very tempted but have no money for a month or two
15. I never knew Trace did a 2x12 cab!
16.
Same here!
Me too haha! That's is one stunning J bass, lovely
17. Welcome to the family the only trouble with ACGs is that once you pop, you can't stop. Eventually I'd like one of each model give or take haha! No 3 is currently in gestation for me - it's the funky Skelf Short Scale which has appeared in a few of Alan's videos this week
18. Love the WT-550
19.
when did detachable 3x10 become daft? 16x10 is daft....
Shh, I'm calling it daft in case the Missus is reading it
20. It's not about power but about the ability to drive three 8 ohm cabs with a bit of margin for error really. It's part of a daft mid-term plan I have to make an uber modular rig with One10s
21.
Because the WA can do 2-ohms, it got me wondering about the R-400, so I asked Leszek if it was possible: 'Not as it is, but for 50€ we can do modification on 2Ohm, no problem.'
Ooooooooh
22.
Yep, the WA will happily do 2ohm. But, if you can live without the 2ohm or active EQ, look no further than the Handbox R-400.
Ah wicked. The Handbox is what started this train of thought - I almost messaged you to ask about the two ohm thing!
23. Doesn't do 2 ohms I don't think, but that is exactly the thing I mean. Good work sire!
24. I have clearly got too much time on my hands so I've come up with my dream bass amp. It's pretty silly really otherwise someone would have already done it... Class A/B power section, old school power supply, min 400W Form factor a la Eden WT550 or Ashdown CTM30 (i.e. small and narrow but not necessarily lightweight!) All valve preamp - running at proper plate voltages please Keep it simple with gain (with the ability to get some lovely dirt if needed), three or four band active EQ, volume Min speaker load 2 ohms (yes...) Preferably with an aux in and headphone out but these aren't paramount Who wants to build me one then
