Many thanks for replying and explaining 'things'. I apologise for not making my question clearer regarding how well the fretless G3 rated compared with similar instruments in the same class. I didn't know whether you still owned the fretless model in the photo. I simply asked how it compared based on the assumption that you would have played it avidly at some point and I was curious to know your thoughts. I too have moved from 4's to 5's but also from fretted to fretless. Personally, I'd always set my sights on a Sei which I thought I'd probably end up buying secondhand from the Bass Gallery. When I saw your Gus Fretless it stopped me in my tracks and got me thinking......π€ I suppose ultimately I'd aspire to a Pentabuzz but could never see me locating/affording a 5 string one. Once again, thank you very much for the photos and information. Very much appreciated π

Beautiful, stunning collection ππYou must be very proud. Just out of interest, just how good is the fretless compared to other basses in the same price category/class ?
-
Thank you π Great looking bass β€

Love the black fretless bass (photographed lying on a public seat/bench ?). Can you tell me what make/model it is please. I don't recognise it. Looks a very cool instrument π

Christmas presents....What did Santa bring you?
Cornwall Steve replied to Mudpup's topic in General Discussion
I wrote a very long list to Santa outlining all the basses I wouldn't mind having for Christmas But as expected, I got socks, pants, gloves and a woolly hat π Oh well, try again next year π -

Interesting observations there. And food for thought. Thanks for that. -
Happy Boxing Day to all ! Bored with Christmas TV π΄ ? Does anyone out there have any first hand experience comparing these two basses ? If both basses were fretted 5 string, maple fretboard models, regardless of year of manufacture, given the choice, which one would you opt for and why ?

Mismatched top, would this bother you? Cort space 4
Cornwall Steve replied to 41Hz's topic in General Discussion
I'd put my hand up and confess I couldn't live with it either. If I accepted it, I'd also be forever worried others would feel the same when it was time to sell it on. -
You need to be more careful what you write and 'Yes' I'm offended.

Strange question to ask. You're getting a bit personal now.

To be fair Counsellor reckons all bass players are hopeless cases. No idea why she thinks that

Cort space 5 and the fluctuating prices β¦
Cornwall Steve replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
I like both the green and the black version, IMO both colours work well, though shame really there isn't more colour choice. We all like to be a little more individual don't we? -
This isn't for me. I'm still attending my GAS therapy sessions. My Counsellor reports I'm a hopeless case !ππ

Oh boy, this is a great topic to respond to!π Since retiring a few years ago, I've treated myself to quite a few secondhand (and also a few new) basses (plus a couple of guitars too !). The unexpected goodies that these bad boys have turned up with over the years never ceased to surprise me. I can remember: two hard cases, several gig bags (of various quality and condition), numerous straps, leads, and picks, two decent electronic tuners, spare strings, a microphone, a pedal, and even an e-bow (okay, it wasn't working!). Sadly no hidden cash though ππ

You're lucky to have such a good Tech you can turn too. Unfortunately I'm not so lucky where I live. Great Techs are worth their weight in gold π€π
