Thank you for sharing that. Some interesting views. Personally, I'm not a fan of the EHB. The Hils I'm not keen on for looks but intrigued that you liked the sound, it's a headless I quite fancied trying out. I'd thought about a Hohner the Jack (I already have the headstock version) but want a 5 which for The Jack are very hard to come by. I do enjoy playing Slap which for an old boy of 70 with (only) nine arthritic fingers is a bit odd, I know. I believe the Cort slaps pretty well. And Frank Itt seems to slap the Sire M6 pretty well on the Bass the World review. Just not sure about those Tuners though, as Gregor is quick to point out! Speaking of which, any issues with the Cort you've encountered in the set-up or tuning department ? Thanks Steve

I'm with you completely on that one. from where I live it's a struggle to get to Andertons and back in a day. Last time I tried something like that I forked out £140 in rail fares and ended up buying a bass just to justify going (to the wife !😟)

That's good to hear. I play 5 string. Be interested to (eventually) learn how the 5 string M6 stacks up against the Cort Space 🤔

I own 3 V7's (1x5 and 2x4's) plus an M2. I love em'. I think Sire are very good value. Wouldn't hesitate buying another. The M6 looks exciting and intimidating (in 5 string). Love to know what they play like?🤔 Have to say there always seems to be used Cort Space's up for sale. Folk don't seem to hang on to them for too long

I've watched both these videos already and apart from these, as yet I don'believe anyone else has posted a review or demo - hence me turning to basschat forum 😊 Thank you too for the advice regarding multi scales generally. I have to say, it's exploring both headless and multi-scale that appeals.

Yeah, I kinda of thought about it but don't like messing folks around. I've bought several basses off them before, the most recent being in June. I guess there is no reason why I shouldn't give it a try 🤔However I'd really like to know if someone has played these and whether they're any good?

Hi All, ☺️ I appreciate these have only just hit the UK market via Andertons or Thomann, but has anyone bought one or even tried one yet? I've been saving up my pennies for a headless and quite fancy going for the 5 string version (rather than going for an Ibanez EHB or Cort Space). Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

I recently bought a 425x. I like it very much. I enjoy playing it and I enjoy the sound. Whilst I was trying to track one down I occasionally came across a 1025x for sale (and even a 2025x) and pondered over the price difference. Sure I Googled the videos - as you do - watched the reviews and read up on the specs too, but wondered if any members out there have actually played (or even own) both the 425x and also the 1025x. I'm curious because I've considered whether it's worth buying a 1025x but of course only if the upgrades on the 1025x are really superior to the 425x so justify the hike in price? Please not interested in the material or manufacturing upgrades - only the sound (i.e. is the 1025x more powerful, more versatile, better quality, etc) My apologies if someone else has asked this question before so the topic has already been covered?🤔 Many thanks

I think you've summed the whole the thing up very well, and how you explained this cycle of buying in the beginning, realising your mistake, so you buy again, rinse and repeat' is just about the story of my life 🙄 Now that I've amassed a plethora of basses of all shapes and sizes (and spending a fortune in the process!), you turn your attention to the rest of the kit around you, and start throwing that out and replacing it. GAS I think they call it ! Frankly, if I had the best of the best I'd still wonder just how much better (or different) something else would sound. And you wouldn't believe how often I wished I lived closer to the likes of Bass Direct, Bass Gallery, or Andertons, etc. As it is, it's a five hour return journey just to get to somewhere with pavements, proper road signs, and street lighting. And the last time I ventured off on that pilgrimage I came home empty handed ! 😂 I most certainly will purchase a quality bass rig at some point. I had high hopes for the Rumble but after testing was a bit deflated. Time to save the pennies again ! Thanks once again for all the help and advice ☺️

Many thanks for your reply and advice. I'm pretty much in agreement with all your observations and recommendations. I started off down the Behringer simply because they give me what I wanted at the time and I didn't know any better. That journey began a decade ago when I retired and now I've accumulated five (of different sizes). Buying gear sucks really. You buy for Pounds but end up selling for Pennies. Living down in deepest darkest Cornwall there are very few half decent music shops selling amplification worth buying at a price worth paying. Since posting, I've had a chance to actually try out a mid size Rumble. It was good but frankly I wasn't blown away. Better than my equivalent Behringers - 'Yes'' - but not enough to justify flogging them off for pennies then hammering the bank account. If I were gigging it'll be a different story. So I've invested in some decent (but not Behringer !😂) headphones instead. They've certainly upped the sound quality ! N.B. Big thank you to all members who have offered help and advice

Yes, I've since realised this after posting my offer to assist. All my own fault - I was too quick to submit my posting without checking when the original was posted several years ago. It's what happens when you respond to someone else's post at 5 o clock in the morning having been awake since 3am and only having had four hours sleep !😔💤 Lesson learnt - check dates next time before putting pen to paper !

Hi Richard Regarding the mystery writing inside the cavity, my brother lived in China close to the Korean border for over a decade teaching English. He is married to a local. They speak several Chinese dialects and understand some Korean. I could forward the writing on to them if you like. They might be able to translate it or at least identify which country the writing originates from ? Cheers, Steve

Thanks Ian. I'd thought about Ampeg (along with other brands too). Never tried one. On line there seem to be so many divided opinions especially on the volume verses sound quality front and that's held me back. As a I don't gig, or even play in a band, for me sound quality is king. I just want to be able to achieve a smooth, clean sound without the muffled, muddy or distortion. Many years ago my old HH bass head driving a custom mad 1x15 reflex gave me just that but those days are long gone and it's mainstream modelling stuff now, mass produced in the PRC, and loaded with gimmicky knobs, buttons, sliders and flashing lights that IMO add to user appeal but do very little else. In short, sound is such a personal and emotive subject. We all hear things differently. We all strive for that perfect balance.

Thank you very much for such a comprehensive 'heads up'. Plenty for me to think about and take on board. I concur with your recommendation to clear the decks and pension off the Spiders (great for wannabee teens on a tight budget but I've moved on from that now 😂) and the Ultrabasses/BXL's. It's the best bang for the buck in terms of tone quality I'm after - not Volume. I remember seeing those red lights glowing in the Rumbles's Ports. Began to think my eyes were playing up again 😂 But seriously, thank you once again Ed 👍
