I'd also be willing to take one for the team and buy a vintage Fender at a bargain basement price. For the good of the community.

Is the top left dial marked "Peas", or is that my eyes? I'd love a pedal with Peas written on it.

Using a line selector pedal like a Boss LS2 to boost the OC2 could achieve this with the same number of stomps as just engaging the OC2.

Great pedal! But I agree there’s a lot of knob tweaking to contend with! You’ve inspired me to set aside a bit more time with it. I got stuck in a rut using mainly the Okto side of the pedal as I really like the range of tones I can squeeze out of it. Trying the Nøjs side recently at lower gain settings has made me realise I was probably overdoing it much of the time. Have you tried the internal guitar/bass switch? I set it to Bass when I first got mine but haven’t done any A/B testing yet.

Sounds like a fun project, and makes for some encouraging reading after browsing through the Auditions in Hell thread!

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
Homatron replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
I had the chance to do something quite different last night, and take part in a poetry jam/workshop. This involved writing a short poem (with guidance from an experienced writer), and then covering bass duties in a jam band while everyone took turns to deliver their poems in a spoken-word-over-music format. Great fun! -

I bought a strap from Rob and he was great at answering my queries and immediately shipped the item. I was also the lucky recipient of an unwanted USB power supply in return for a donation to the North West Air Ambulance service. Thanks again Rob! Pleasure doing business with you.

At the risk of just recommending what I have, the EBS Classic Session 60 is a great little amp. Looks like there's one for sale here (no conflict of interest to declare!), and one at Bass Direct.

I've found this approach really helps for my basic attempts at singing. Once I have largely got both parts down in isolation I start identifying which note in the bassline is the cue to start singing a particular word or line.

Thanks for that @Grahambythesea! I wonder if that is where Tony Levin got his inspiration from.

Just bought a tuner from Harry. Great comms and speedy posting. Pleasure doing business. Cheers!

I just bought some patch cables from Simon. Great comms and super speedy transaction. Buy with confidence folks!

Here's the pic I should have included in my previous post! I'm planning to raise the board a few mm to fit the HPF underneath as soon as I find some suitable feet.

You've got me digging my TC Mojo back out. I had been going with a DIY JPTR Jive for some colour but just tried them together and I think it'll be staying this way for a bit.

Slapped this board together in a hurry as I wanted a battery-powered utility board for a small gig. Slightly miffed I needed to use 2x USB converters to eliminate noise, but it worked well and sounded good in the end! Apologies if the messiness offends anyone!

I can't get over his groove. So good! Theres so much to learn from this video. The economy of movement, the pocket... but it'll take a long time to retrain my body to feel half-time all the time! -
Hmm... I suppose that makes me a clicktim* of this ploy. *Sorry. I'm manning the BBQ so Dad jokes/puns are falling out.

How does anyone acquire so many old bits and incomplete instruments? And does anyone buy these things? A strat neck plate for £1000, for example. I'm no expert, but that's a lot of money for a tiny piece of steel with 4 holes in it.

Solid plan. I'll report back if it comes to that.

It's Mystic Sea Foam Green apparently. Definitely got a metallic thing going on. Very mysterious anyway. Good shout on darkening the fretboard for more lovelification. No doubt there's more than a few opinions out there as to how to do it!

Well, I'm not entirely sure what happened down at the pawn shop. I popped in to look for a passive footswitch but I now have a new (to me) Squier Active Jazz bass. I shouldn't have picked it up "just to see if it's any good". When I realised it was essentially unplayed and felt super comfortable I knew I was in trouble. After minor tweaks to intonation and action, and swapping the gleaming white pickguard for an old off-white one from the cupboard it is just the ticket. Looking forward to taking this along to a jam soon.
