Here is my Fishman BP-100 Acoustic Bass pickup for sale – it’s complete with the clips to attach the two sensors to the bridge of the bass, and the output socket, on its mounting plate that fits between the D & A strings– it simply clips on over the strings between the bridge & the tailpiece – see photo I bought this separately from my double bass, and did gig it with this pickup fitted to it a couple of times. I ran it through a Boss Bass graphic eq pedal into a Peavey Minx 50 watt amplifier that I’m also going to be putting up on sale. The combination sounded really good, but the bass has gone now, so the pickup & amplifier have to go too. I’ve put a link on to the Fishman site for information below. http://www.fishman.c...ght-bass-pickup The pickup is complete in its original box with the manual, mounting clips, foam rubber inserts to keep the socket wire acoustically isolated in the bridge – and even the “Fishman Equipped” sticker to put on your bass case....

Here’s my Andreas Zeller full size (4/4’s) double bass up for sale – I thought I’d be playing more on a full double bass when I bought it, but it just isn’t getting used - I’m mainly playing bass guitar with occasional outings on my WAV4 electric upright. The bass is in great condition – and as it is a few years old and has been gigged it does have a few marks here and there – “nibbles” round the edges mostly – but there is nothing serious (no splits or cracks). There is one mark on the upper bout (the side nearer to you as you play it) where someone had put a big “dink” into it about the size of a 10p piece– it has been filled, stained & polished – I’ve put a close up of this in the pictures. It has a good set of Thomastik Infeld Spirocore strings on it with a new low E just fitted. It has a great sound – it’s a powerful instrument and it has a good mellow, woody tone (to my ears, anyway). The bass dates from 2000/2001 and was originally from Booths Music shop in Bolton, bought for over £1100. I’ve looked back at other Zeller bases on here, and the asking price seems to be £750 to £850, depending on “accessories”, and those prices are going back to 2007/2009, so I’m looking for Price Drop to £725 – I’m looking to sell as I could do with realising some of the cash I have tied up in equipment, but may trade for a Precision bass with maple fretboard - give me a shout. In with this price I’m including a soft zip up case for the bass which cost £50, a decent French style bow and rosin, plus a soft fabric cover for the bow. I also have a Westbury Padded Bass Bag with Wheels which cost about £150, and I will be selling this separately once I’ve sold the bass – I will be looking for £80 for this, unless you want to buy this with the bass in which case I would offer the combined price of £775 (that’s £30 off). There is a link below to this model of case for information. Hi, I had this date diaried & now I've looked on the 'net to see about getting tickets I'm not finding any information - has anyone else found more out about this event, or is it just not happening this year? Cheers, Stompbox.

Got to give this a go as I've acquired a 4/4 Andreas Zeller " by accident" as it were - I had just sold a guitar & so had some - I'll not say SPARE cash, but as yet unused cash & heard of this bass for sale by an older bassist. I had to follow it up & met the guy - he was/is 82 years old & said he was finding it to much to carry & play it. I got the bass off him (it's only about 15/16 years old, not one he had for years & years). He seemed disconsolate at having to give up, so I loaned him my fretless bass guitar - I said thie electric bass may suit you instead. BLOW ME - HE'S BEEN & BOUGHT ONE AND A SMALL AMP & IS BACK OUT THERE - WHAT A GUY..... Geoff

Ah yes I have read the blurb and looked at the videos, but I wanted to hear from someone who had actually used one (like yourself) - and you're giving it the "Thumbs Up", so that's good. Cheers,

Good evening - I thought this may be a way to drive a high power unit. Has anyone tried one of the Line 6 Bass PODs as a preamp to run into a Slave/Power amp? Any information gratefully received ...... Cheers, Stompbox

Just jumping in here - I've been really fired up about getting a Fender Kingman acoustic bass ever since I played on one in a shop a few weeks ago- I've sold various pedals & bits & pieces to get some cash together. Now I've thought about it I'm thinking - "Hmmmmm- do I need one and would I use one?" Yes - I still WANT an electro, and I love jazz bass necks, but it might well wind up hung on the wall next to my very old Framus bass - but hey - that's a semi acoustic as well. Might just hang onto the cash, and play the Framus.

Adjusting The Nut Grooves/Slots On My Double Bass
Stompbox replied to Stompbox's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I've just posted a new topic about making a disatnce piece for your bass to position the bridge correctly - a very useful, simple item - this is the link to it:- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/180540-make-one-of-these-for-your-bass-bridge-distance-piece/ -
Adjusting /Re-Cutting Bridge on Double Bass
Stompbox replied to Stompbox's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I've just put what will hopefully be a very useful new post on - it relates to settingup bridges & really is a must for double bass players - this is the link to it:- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/180540-make-one-of-these-for-your-bass-bridge-distance-piece/ -
MAKE ONE OF THESE FOR YOUR BASS ! ! ! Following on from my notes about doing the bass bridge & re-cutting the slots in the nut, I felt that I just had to put notes and photos on this item in. When I kept tuning up and & slackening the strings off it was difficult to constantly check that the bridge was at right angles to the belly of the instrument all the time – the danger is, of course, of the bridge collapsing/falling over if it’s not perpendicular to the front of the bass. It is amazing how much difference a correctly set bridge makes to the sound – I had mine about 5 or 6mm out of place & not quite upright & all I was getting was the percussive thump rather than the note. I read about this on another site, so I’m not claiming credit for this, but it’s so obvious now I’ve read about it. I reckon everyone who owns a double bass should make one! You have to know exactly where your bridge should be set, and then measure the distance from the end of the fingerboard to the back of the bridge when it’s perfectly in place. It’s just a piece of plywood with a notch cut in it to fit the top of the bridge, and a piece cut out to fit over the end of the fingerboard. This sets the distance from the top of the bridge exactly. It makes a BIG differenc to messing about trying to judge it, and you can repeat it time after time. The measurement on my bass is 9 and 3/16”, but this will, of course vary from bass to bass I also put a couple of tiny marks on the front of the bass where the bridge feet should go. This means you can set the bridge perfectly, time after time. I put a bit of green baize on the distance piece to protect the fingerboard, and some masking tape in the notch to protect the top of the bridge. – go on – make one for yourself – your bass deserves it ! ! !
