  1. All original like Triggers broom.
  2. Good job we're not talking about pianos then.
  3. At the end of the day (its night yes yes I know) it depends on what you play. If a 5 or 6 string suits your style of music then more power to you. But it does mildly irritate me when see songs being played in a 5 or 6 string which can be easily played on a standard 4. I just think what are you trying to prove? I played a 5 string years ago and mostly found myself using the B string as thumb rest. Never played a 6 string.
  4. Wish you all the best.
  5. Haha ahh right no worries. 😂
  6. Is your drummer a guy called Steady by any chance?
  7. Just got back from a gig with my band Sour Tusk. We played a place called The cask bah! In Loughborough. Bit apprehensive when I first arrived it's a really tiny micro pub. Really tiny stage. Nowhere to store guitar cases etc. Good job we're only a 3 piece. But it was sold out so it was packed. We seemed to go down really well. Would like to play there again. Though I'm still think it's more suited for acoustic gigs. Also got back home a rather more civilized times than the 4am after the last gig. 😅
  8. I'd probably just use a pick for that one gig. Luckily I'm comfortable playing both pick and fingers but prefer to use fingers.
  9. Eeeee ouch!😬
  10. Good old ric bashing thread. I usually have to use talkbass for this.
  11. Just got back from playing a gig at "The Pub" Lancaster. Small stage but a great venue. Was really busy sold some merch. Good night. 3 hour drive there and 2.5 back. It's almost 4 in the morning. Absolutely knackered and ready for bed. But it was worth it. Rock n roll.
  12. Ahh! That new string feeling. Yes it's NSD.

Everytime I get new roundwounds, I enjoy the 'zing' for 5 mins and then remember I much prefer dead flats.

  13. I hope she said yes. Bit awkward if not. (Just realised I've replied to the wrong comment. My apologies)
  14. It really is the luck of the draw. We've had support slots for bands that hold sold out shows in Europe twice the size of the venues we supported them at. Yet the turnout was dire in comparison. Yet other shows where i don't expect anything have been rammed. Just no logic at the moment. Sorry to hear about it guys.
  15. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. Came across this on the old socials. Keep your eyes peeled folks. https://www.facebook.com/groups/657220998474079/permalink/1245807872948719/
  16. Just got in from our first gig of the year at Nightrain in Bradford. Good audience went down quite well. Really good venue too first time I've played there. Good night enjoyed it.
  17. I know its awful and incredibly sad and tragic to see but it reminds me of that fast show jazz club sketch where the singer just keeps introducing the drummer over and over again. I'm so sorry.
  18. Living the dream. Hope you finished before the tide came in though.
  19. Haven't got a story just dropping before I get too drunk to say Happy new year to all bass chatters. Wish you all a fantastic 2023.
  20. Congratulations. Wish you and your family well.
  21. Indeed. Like everyone else I've made sweet FA money out of it. But the experiences and friends I've made through it are priceless. I'd certainly be a lot worse off without it and sometimes in my life it's really been the only thing that kept me going.
  22. Mark Sandman's 2 string slide bass
  23. Just got back home from the last show for us this year. Great gig. Really enjoyed it. Brilliant way to round off the year. Very much looking forward to 2023. Bring it on.
  24. Playing The Yards in Kettering tonight. Second of 3 gigs this weekend. Last one of the year tomorrow. (Now cancelled unfortunately)
  25. Played a gig earlier this year. One of the best if not THE best audiences I've ever played to. Sold out and it was full of people going nuts having a great time. Famous musicians who get to experience that sort of thing every night hope they realize how lucky they are.
